After years of nothing but the eery bubbly static, that the staff of Santorini Estate had grown accustomed to. So accustom to, it was the norm. After the fifth year of nothing but the static isolated silence, Carson, along with the rest of the remaining staff, had stopped the hourly checks of the telegraph, instead resigning to walking by it every so often to see if there was anything coming through the receiver. Even the silliest buzz would be taken with the utmost caution; to where the helicopter and raider would be used for a search. A search so heavily depended on, that very inch of the island was scrutinized! From the palace to the chateau and then to the sea. There was nowhere on the island that anyone unaccounted for could hide.

But one night, this night to be exact, everything would change. The years of that miserable, eery static that consumed the minds of the remaining staff members of the estate would finally be broken!

Carson was the head of the Estate, he presided over everyone from its opening to now. He knew everything that went on, he was like a god- he saw everything! It was just after midnight when something astonishing happened- the telegraph was receiving a message, a very dire message! He hopped up from the bed and began writing down what the machine spat out.

"Oh my God!" was all he could manage to say.

He raced out of his room, turned on all the lights throughout the palace, and yelled for Eric at the top of his lungs! The alarm sounded and every staff member was veered awake in minutes! Carson and Eric readied the chopper and soon thereafter took off for the location the message said.

"Carson," Eric said as they flew the helicopter, "do you think it's really her?"

"Well, who else could it possibly it be?" Carson responded...

The deck swung to the side, deck chairs were taken by gravity towards the edges of the ship, panic ridden passengers quickly followed the path! The ship was an amines ship, spanning several football fields long, everyone assumed it could not, it would not sink- but it was! Diana was searching for Raul and Bruce, but there was no sign of them. Diana refused, like so many others, to exit the ship without their traveling companion. Then the ship settled, the remaining passenger got there footing and an odd feeling of calm fell upon the liner. Diana ran after, still in search of Raul and Bruce; then a loud bang echoed throughout the vast ocean liner, cutting the odd equanimity short! The lights began to flicker and then dimmed out, never to illuminate their luxurious home again. Everyone stopped for a moment like they were looking at each other for some extraordinary or even supernatural event to occur and quell the foundering of the R. M. S. Elite! Then all hell broke loose; the ship threw its self to one side- tossing its occupants to the steadily sinking deck, like lifeless rag dolls! The spot where Diana was standing just moments ago, was now suddenly swallowed by the sea! Diana knew she had only one choice if she was to live- jump for her life! She made a mad dash to the disappearing railing, and took hold, she automatically flipped herself over the divider and swam for safety.

"Mrs. Diana! Over here!" A familiar voice called out!

She swam in the direction of the voice. It was Jason R. Lungere or "JR" as he preferred, my ex-husband. He quickly helped her into the lifeboat, and soon several more of their fellow passengers were helped in.

Diana looked at the faces of the people in her boat- Amanda, Jack, JR, and Mrs. Edwards (wife of Captain Edwards, he was the captain of the now former R.M.S. Elite) were all present. Then Raul swam up to the edge of the lifeboat and got in.

"I did it," Raul told Diana with a smile on his face.

"Did what?" Diana asked confused.

"Delivered the message, they should be here soon." He responded.

"Oh! Thank God! And thank you!" She hugged him.

By now the ship had left this earth, and was on a fast one-way trip down to the bottom of the sea. The lifeboats were so spread out you required the aid of a looking device to see them. It was dark, a sickly black, and the wet salty sea air made one chilly. They were becoming quite concerned for themselves. They thought to themselves, "After all who would be coming to the rescue, if there was no ships or people in reach of the telegraph?"

Oh, but at last, they were quite wrong. In fact did indeed hear the cries of distress. A chopper's spotlight zoomed around the water, in search of presumed survivors. The chopper spotted their lifeboat! They were all relieved.

"Mrs. Diana it is you?" Carson said, extending his hand, "It is you!" He corrected himself.

"Why, yes. Yes, it is I," Diana said smiling.

Carson and Eric helped the others into the helicopter and then took off. After the survivors had time to process what just happened, Diana introduced Eric and Carson.

After Diana introduced them to the group, Carson added, "It's good to have you back Diana."

"It's good to be back," Diana responded, "Oh, it's good to be back."

Several minutes later Carson came said, "Mrs. Diana welcome back to Santorini Estate."
