It was 18-10, and Karasuno needed a lift.
"WHAT?! BUT YOUR CONDITION! YOU COULDNT POSSIBLY-"
"Pinch server." You said stoically, "I can do that."
"But your knee-"
"To hell with my knee." You replied, grabbing a pinny (or jersey whatever you want to call it) and slipping it on.
It felt good to actually play again.
The game resumed and all the boys were staring at you.
"Freak quick freak quick freak quick..." You kept on mumbling to yourself, trying to remember the coordination techniques you taught your brother.
You walked up to Hinata.
"I can toss the ball to you, and you can do your freak quick thingy." You whispered.
"Ehh?! But you're not Kageyama?" He asks.
"I know, and I can't replace your bond in a day, but guess who taught him his accuracy?"
You grinned at the sparkling boy.
"HAI GRAND QUEEN!"
You chuckle and head to the serving line.
You took in a deep breath, waiting for the whistle, all eyes on you.
"A girl? No way!" Some of the watchers snickered. "She'll get whooped right away." "Look at her knee, it needs a support." "She's probably just a distraction."
But oh were they so wrong.
You took off at the sound of the whistle, fast, speedy, and strong, shocking everyone. Adrenaline rushing through your veins, excitement pumping through your whole body.
You took the jump serve formation and hit the ball with all you've got, taking aim.
It pummelled to the ground with a force greater than Oikawa's - and this was just the start. From the shock, no one was able to receive the ball.
18-11!
You did it again.
18-12!
And again.
18-13
And on your last one, the libero was able to get it up. It took all he got and he winced, clutching his hands right after in pain.
"That's right." You huffed under your breath, "It hurts."
You felt another pang in your knee but continued to play.
The ball was on your side of the court now, and this was your chance.
You positioned yourself at the left outside court, and tossed.
It was a perfect toss.
Hinata spiked it with glory, as the points changed.
18-14!
"She...she was able to coordinate with the shrimp!" Some whispered.
You were breathing slightly heavily due to the slight heavy feeling in your knee.
You had to keep going.
You being there turned the points around, and Karasuno was able to et more points in, now in the lead, but now it was Oikawa's turn to serve again.
