Oikawa was distracted. The whole first set, you were still in your cheerleading uniform, and he prayed you had shorts on underneath, which luckily, you did.
You were tempted to take off the skirt the whole time as it was irritating and clingy, but you had decided to leave it on, after all, doing so would make you look like an exhibitionist.
Oikawa led his team into winning the second set, and you watched his techniques, realizing that you two weren't that far apart strength wise.
And turns out, he has a bad knee too. You noticed the white support pad on his knee. You were amazed at how he could keep his cool despite the first set being their loss. He kept the team in check; well, that other guy who he calls 'Iwa-chan' is way more mature, but as the captain, he's doing a pretty good job.
Brain-wise, there wasn't much of a difference either. You wondered what hardships this kid went through too, if he had any that is. Some people just have it easier than others in this world.
You took at glance at him and shook your head.
He definitely wasn't one of those people. You could tell he worked hard for this. You smiled a bit when he got a point in.
You were cheering for Karasuno, but it was hard not to cheer for Aoba Johsai as well.
You looked at Oikawa a bit more, until he turned his head towards you, at what seemed like a secret glance. He didn't mean for you to notice he was looking at you, and this made you guys turn away from the gaze after a couple seconds. You felt your cheeks get warm.
You shook your head. Boys were trouble, no point falling for one now, you thought.
You paused, looking at Tobio. Him and Oikawa had some stare down. You watched in amusement as your brother grimaced when Oikawa stuck out his tongue at him.
You proceeded to smile, hiding a giggle, when Iwaizumi hit Oikawa on the back of his head.
"OWWIE!!! IWA-CHAN THATS SO MEAN!" You heard Oikawa squeal.
You couldn't help it. You had a laughing fit.
"Are you ok?" You saw Kiyoko ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine Kiyo-chan." You say, giggling a bit.
She raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.
You grabbed her hand and started doodling on them with the pen you brought.
Kiyoko was a usually shy girl, but you brought out her inner child, her loud, motherly side, and you found it fun.
"Okaa-san," you start.
"Hm?" Kiyoko hummed.
"HA! THIS PROVES YOU'RE MY MOM!" You grin, a blush spreading onto Kiyoko's face as people turned their heads to the commotion.
"Urusai." Kiyoko whispered, whacking you slightly on the arm.
"Welp, it's the last set!" You say, changing the subject.
Kiyoko reached down to examine the hand you drew on and smiled. You drew on flowers and vines, her favourite ones too, daisies.
"Yeah. It's pretty exciting, even if it's only a practise match."
You nodded as the last set began to start. This set would determine the winner.
You watched at the points were going back and forth, waiting for some sort of lead.
You waited and waited, until Karasuno bumped ahead. You grinned. This was your school after all.
You cheered when they won, and ran over to your brother. It was a close one, 25-24, and you scowled at the one point difference.
