I awoke to the ringing of my cellphone as Lianna's picture and name flashed across the screen. Groaning, I leaned over to press the green answer button, placing the phone against my ear.

"Hello?"

"Avi?"

I sat up at the sound of her voice."Why are you calling so early, and where have you been?"

"It's well after 12 in the afternoon first off, and that's why I was calling. I didn't want you worrying about me. August offered to take me home so I left a little early."

"You could've at least warned me. I was worried when you wouldn't return my texts."

"I'm sorry. You looked like you were having a good time with Darrin so I didn't want to interrupt."

"It's fine." I sighed as I tossed my legs over the side of the bed, feeling my toes hit the carpet.

"Okay, cool." Her tone seemed hesitant as the line grew quiet causing me to wonder what it was she was holding back.

"What is it Lia?"

"Nothing, I just..."

I could feel myself growing anxious as the line once again grew silent. "You know you can tell me anything? Did something happen last night?"

"No, nothing happened." Her tone was vague but I knew there was no pressing her.

Instead, I decided to bring up how she had acted with Autumn yesterday to see if I could get any sort of explanation.

"So what was that with Autumn yesterday?"

"What was what?" She sighed.

"You pretending like she was one of the most irrelevant people in existence. I've talked about her multiple times with you so why would you try and front like that?"

"Look, I'm sorry about that. I've had a lot on my plate lately and I was...a little jealous. I barely get to see you because of school and stuff, and I don't want you to forget about me down there."

"Lianna you know I could never forget about you. That's absolutely ridiculous." I frowned.

"I know. I know. Just tell Autumn I'm sorry and it wasn't personal. I have to go but I'll call you later."

"Alright." I said hesitantly. "Love you."

"Love you too, bye."

Lianna was definitely acting a little off but I couldn't exactly figure out why. I wasn't sure if it was something dealing with August, or just something else altogether. She was the type to make you pry it out of her, and that was just something I didn't have the energy to do as of right now.

I stood up from my bed and glanced over at my clock. It was roughly 8 A.M. and the house was still fairly quiet. I decided to head down the hallway to take a quick shower while everyone was still sleeping. As I came to a stop at the bathroom door I noticed the light was on and a few seconds later the door came swinging open.

The smart retort that would've normally instantly left my lips was silenced as my eyes unintentionally raked over Augusts' shirtless torso, and the towel that was wrapped around his waist. We were face to face and I could practically feel my cheeks turning pink.

"Oh sorry, I-I wasn't trying to-"

He scowled, smacking his lips as he proceeded to brush past me.
