Mike's pov
I sat down at the lunch table by myself today. Ashton Calum and Luke were all skipping school today because of their hangovers from last nights party.
I'm just glad no one else came to sit by me. If I couldn't sit by the losers I call my friends then I didn't want to sit by anybody else.
I was done with my lunch and about to go throw it away when I heard a crash on opposite side of the lunch room.
A guy who I knew only by his name had spilled his lunch all over a girl. Like it was everywhere. It was on her shirt on her shorts in her hair. Everywhere.
Her cheeks flushed red as she saw everyone stare at her.
The boy who had bumped into her said no apologies, as far as he was concerned it was her own fault. He just pushed past her and walked out into the hallway.
The girl looked quite embarrassed almost as if she could cry. But I could care less. I wasn't about to go up there and help her, and by the looks of it, no one else was either.
I continued on to throw out the rest of my food out then proceeded to the hallway.
3:15pm.
There were 2 minutes left in the school day and I was sitting in Biology with a Unit test that wasn't even half done. All of it was so confusing and I swear we hadn't learned any of it! At least it wasn't on the study guide...
I sighed and started to fill in random answers and then the bell rang. I had to turn in my not even half finished test and hope for the best. Even though there was no possible way I would be passing it.
"But I'm not even halfway done." I whispered out of frustration.
The girl who had gotten food spilled on her at lunch laughed a little at my comment. I couldn't tell if she was making fun of me or not, so I just let it go.
So far today had sucked, I thought to myself while walked out of school.
My friends weren't here and I flunked a big test. It's not that I really cared about my grades, it's my Dad that does.
Cora's pov
I sat down at lunch with my friends. My best friend Melody, and a couple of guys who I've known since forever.
Our friend Kai had been making terribly hilarious jokes all day. We were laughing and honestly so far my day has been wonderful. Melody leaned into Kai's shoulder her laughter uncontainable.
I shook my head laughing along with her as I stood up to go throw out my food.
I turned my head to look back at my friends for a split second when I felt someone crash into me and a searing liquid run down my shirt, it was sure to leave a burn mark.
A boy who I didn't know had run into me and spilled his soup everywhere but on himself.
I could feel tears trying filling my eyes and my cheeks turning hot. I tried to stay calm as the boy shrugged at me and walked into the hallway.
After none of my friends offered to help and everyone in the cafeteria had their eyes on me, I left too following the boy out.
I sat in the girls bathroom for a while and cried then went to change into my gym clothes. I pulled my hair up into a pony tail after I rinsed it out and reapplied a little bit of my makeup.
I decided I looked well enough and decided to go to my locker and grab my stuff before class.
3:15pm
I was in Biology class and I was trying to complete a test. The problem was I studied but I didn't know any of it. I wasn't even half way through the test and there was 2 minutes left of class.
The bell rang and I had to turn in my unfinished test knowing I had failed.
Today went from possibly one of the best days in school to possibly one of the worst.
I sighed as I gathered my things to leave class.
I heard another kid whisper, "but I'm not even half way done." From the back of the class.
I laughed a little, 'me either buddy, me either.' I thought to myself.
He gave me a look that was not a friendly one and stood up to turn in his test.
This boy looked familiar. His hair was a burnt orange color and his eyebrow piercing tells me my mother would never let me talk to him. I swear I knew him I just couldn't put my finger on it.
He had a few tattoos but not too many.
I'd have to ask Melody what his name was, and also what the hell she was doing when I got soup spilled all over me.I reached up to my chest and touched the spot that had been burned. I winced in pain and decided not to touch it again.
I wandered home, yes I walked home and yes it was quite far away, but Melody had walked home with me today.
She explained why she didn't help me and it was just because she was just in shock and also that it was kind of funny. I showed her my burn and she didn't think it was very funny anymore.
"So Melody..." I trailed.
"Yes bitch." She looked at me took her sun glasses off her head and put them on.
I rolled my eyes at her humor but couldn't help laugh a little.
"Do you know the name of the kid in our school with dyed orange-"
"MICHAEL CLIFFORD!" She screeched causing me to flinch.
My eyes widened a bit, "That's Michael Clifford?"
She nodded, her curly brown hair bouncing everywhere.
Let me tell you about Michael Clifford.
He's the schools cliche "bad boy" that you read about in all those books.
Except he really is heartless and even though he good looking, he's not good for you.
"Why the hell are you asking me about Michael Clifford?" She asked curiously.
"I laughed mockingly at something he said and he gave me a death glare. Then I thought he looked familiar but since I've never had him in any of my classes and I've only really heard of him, I didn't know what he looked like." I finished.
She shook her head again, "Stay out of his way. Promise me that." She held out her pinky.
I laughed and pinky promised her, "That's something I'll have no trouble doing."
