Chapter 8

Destiny's pov-

"So do you wanna bowl now? I've kinda lost my appetite." He says in a low voice

"Um sure." I say as we get up from the booth. We walk to the shoe rental area and we get our shoes and are assign a lane.

"Um so how does this work?" I ask smiling a Sam cracks a laugh as he comes up behind me. His hands are on mine guiding my arms to throw the ball then I hear a familiar voice that makes me cringe in fear,

"Woah! Well look who it is!"

I then around and all the memories seem to hit me and my body grows stiff.

Nick, Jeff, and Andrew.

They're wearing their stupid varsity jackets and that delvilish smirk is planted on their face. That same smirk when they made me cry.

"Look I told you to stay away from her." Sam says eyes the three boys down.

"Hey chill we were just bowling and we saw you two and wanted to say hi" Jeff says cracking a smile then chuckling along with the other two

"Yea we had a varsity game with another school around here and we saw this was a good place to bowl." Nick says as they walk into the lane next to ours.

"Well you three should just keep your distance and maybe get a different lane" Sam says as we put the bowling ball down and his hands form fists at his side

"Hey look you didn't order a restraining order!" Andrew says jokingly throwing his hands up in the air

"Yea and why can't the little lady speak over here?" Nick says signaling to me. I am still frozen, i don't know if I want to start a fight with them, ignore them, or ask them to leave me alone. I ignore them and just stare at the ground

"Oh, well it seems she's just as shy as she was when she left. Ya know Dest, just because you moved doesn't mean you change. You are-" Sam cuts them off because I'm pretty sure we all knew what Nick was going to say

"Leave her alone, now." Sam says through his teeth wrapping one arm around my waist pulling me in so I'm up against his body

"Damn blondie. Calm your tits." Andrew says laughing at his own joke. They soon ignore us and I am happy but I really just don't want to see them

"I want to go" I demand to Sam.

"Okay babe." He whispers in my ear as we drop off our bowling shoes. I don't even make eye contact with them as we walk out of the bowling alley. I step into Sam's car and he starts the car.

"They are such assholes." I say tilting my head back

"Well they can't hurt you anymore because I will stay by you and protect you" Sam says smiling as he takes my hand and holds it

"I love you." I say so low it's almost a whisper

"I love you more" Sam says squeezing my hand. Before I know it I'm in my driveway,

"Time goes so fast when I'm with you" I say unbuckling my seatbelt.

"Bye, I love you" Sam says as he opens my door and kisses me on my cheek

"Love you too" I say as I walk up to my front door.

~The next day~

"Hey sorry I'm late!" Sophia says as she bursts through the locker room door,

"It's fine don't worry about it!" I say grabbing her arm as we walk down the hallway

"Okay I'm actually nervous" Sophia says before we go into the choir room

"Don't be, there are just a bunch of outsiders. The only person that may judge you is kitty but don't worry because she's.... Kitty." I say and we both giggle

"Alright I'm ready" she says as she takes a deep breath

"Hey guys!" I say walking in with Sophia next to me

"We may have a new member! Meet Sophia!" I say signaling to Sophia who slightly waves to everyone. Everyone stays pretty silent.

"Ha Sophia why are you here?" Kitty says while laughing

"Hey since you are here it must be cool." Sophia says sarcastically with a smug smile on her face. Kitty rolls her eyes and tilts her head back

"Welcome Sophia! Do you have a song prepared for your audition?"Mr. Shue asks and I see Sophia's body tense up

"Oh yea soph, what's your audition song?" Kitty says with that bitch smirk that makes my insides boil

"Oh I didn't really prepare one" Sophia says quietly,

"I didn't really know I would be singing alone in front of everybody.." She says even quieter looking down at the floor

"What about a duet?" I ask trying to cheer Sophia up a little bit.

"That's fine as long as we get to hear Sophia's voice" Mr. Shue says to us. I look over at Sophia and she slightly nods. But I've only sang solo once for like a measure of my audition song and a few parts in "Roar" and by Sophia's light high pitched talking she will probably have a light angelic voice while mine is more in the heavier side. And what's the audition song going to be?

"So what song will you two ladies like to sing?" Mr. Shue says sitting on a stool in the corner of the choir room. Sophia turns to me,

"Can we sing Royals? It's kinda my go to shower song" she says her cheeks turning a light shade of pink and she smiles. I nod and I tell the band, this song doesn't really fit my voice but it's her audition and I'm just here to sing backup and make her feel comfortable. The song starts and Sophia starts singing and her voice is absolutely angelic. Her body sways as her long blond pony tail sways along. The song comes to an end and everyone is blown away, claps and cheers fill the room as Sophia smiles in the positive response.

"Well I think we have a new member!" Mr. Shue says as everyone claps even more. I take my seat next to Sam and Sophia sits on the other side of me. As Mr. Shue babbles along about Nationals I zone out but quickly fall back to reality as Sam's big hand wraps around mine.

"So wanna come over tonight?" I say in a whisper so no one hears us and so we don't interrupt Mr. Shue.

"Can't I have to go over some girls house to finish a History project. She's new here and I need a good grade so I don't fail" Sam says

"Who is she?" I say a bit louder, but thankfully no one hears me. I'm not jealous though.. I just need to know who he's going to be with to make sure just in case of.. Emergency?.. Okay yeah I'm jealous.

"Tiffany Blake" he says shifting in his seat,

"Tiffany Blake? The new British Cheerio?!" Of course Sam gets pair up with a cute girl for a project.

"Yeah don't sweat it, I love you, okay" Sam says kissing my forehead. The bell rings and everyone scurries out

"Okay bye" I say hugging Sam

"Love you" Sam whispers in my ear before he walks out of the school to his car and I am left alone standing in the middle of the hallway.

I am so sorry I haven't updated in forever! My plan to update more didn't turn out so well. I had writers block for about a week or so and the first quarter for school is almost over so that's also putting more pressure on me.
