"You think that's going to intimidate me?", Ace yelled.
My gaze met his. This was the first time I truly starred into his eyes
Mate, mate, mate!, Alina yelled.
"Mate", I said under my breath.
I gasped and my eyes turned back to hazel. Ace noticed what I said.
"What!",he spat.
I ran off.
What are you doing? Run into his arms.
I let out a low growl towards Alina.
He was right behind me. I only got to the lockers when my hair got tugged and I fell to the ground.
I looked up to see that Ace was towering over me. I got up and tried to run but Ace got hold of my wrist again. It hurt like hell with the bruises still there. So that's why they wouldn't heal..."Let go!", I yelled.
He smirked. I punched him with my free hand and he let go. His head jerked to the side upon impact. I made a run for it. Ace didn't follow.
Eventually, I made it home. Sarah came running outside to me. She tackled me down.
"I was so worried!", she said.
The mind link must've been disconnected when I was in pain. We went inside after Jase came out to get Sarah off of me.
"Where were you?", Sarah asked with worry in her eyes.
"I went to see Ace"
They both tensed up. Jase grabbed my shoulders, inspecting me.
"Did he hurt you?", he asked.
"No but I found out the worst thing the goddess herself could do to a being"
They leaned in as if I was telling a secret.
"Ace is m-my mate"
They gasped in surprise. Sarah was excited for me where as Jase not so much. Him and I have been friends since birth. Our parents were certain we'd be mates but of course that didn't happen much to their disappointment. Our feelings have always been platonic but he's still super overprotective of me.
。。。。。。。。。。。。。。
The rest of the night was silent. After I told them the news, I went to my room. I couldn't sleep. Suddenly I felt a pushing feeling in my head.
'What!'
*your gonna regret hitting me*
'Is that a threat'
*I'd watch my mouth if I were you*
'Lucky for me, you're not'
The pushing feeling stopped and I drifted into sleep.
I woke up the next morning to the sun beaming in my eyes. I wore a green spaghetti strapped dress with a ditsy flower print and a white t shirt with my white converse. The pack got in the car and off we went to school. Jerrica gave us a ride today.
"Any luck finding a pack?", she asked.
"Sadly yes", I trailed off.
She took that as a 'don't ask'.
"I can't see Ace so tell me when he is near", I pleaded.
The whole car obviously said ok. I set up a mind link, hoping that this time if I'm in trouble, they will come to my aid. Alina whimpered when I said that I can't see Ace.
We walked to class and sat in the same spot, in the same way. None of Ace's pack came to class. It was a lot of people. Even the teacher wasn't there but that could just be because he didn't want to come.
I talked with the pack members.
"Where do you think everyone is?", Jase asked.
"I don't know but they might be planning something so keep a close eye"
The bell rang and we all got up nervously. They walked behind me. There were boys at every corner of the school. I only knew that it meant bad news.
We walked to the exit of the school but there were pack members there too, blocking our way out. I was getting pissed off by this. I told the pack to just continue on with their day.Instead of splitting up, the pack stayed by my side. We slowly made our way to my locker. Ace was leaning against mine, with five of his pack members. We tried to turn around but his pack was just closing in on us. There was no other way to go other than in the direction of Ace. Once we made it to my locker, he acted like I wasn't there.
"Can you move.", I said harshly.
"I don't think I want to.", he replied in a teasing tone.
I pushed him and he moved but lost his balance almost fell. A few boys stepped forward threateningly as I opened my locker. My pack just laughed. Ace put his hand out in front of them and they stepped back.
"I see I have a feisty mate", Ace said while slamming my locker shut.
He left his hand next to my head and then put his other hand next to the other side of my head. Alina went crazy. I had to fight her in order to keep in control. With his right hand, he punched my locker, trying to intimidate me. My pack tried to step in but Ace's pack held them back. After all they are one of the strongest packs in the world. My pack just had more recognition but that doesn't determine strength.
"What do you want!", I yelled.
"Can't I just hang out with you, after all you are my mate.", Ace said as he pressed his hand to his chest as if I hurt his feelings.
Yes you can.
Alina shut up!
She blocked me out.
"You're no mate of mine!", I hissed.
He laughed and then suddenly grabbed me by my neck. I couldn't breath and he just made it worse by lifting me up with his hold. I saw his muscular arm flex as he tightened his grip. As I was trying to pry off his hand from my throat, my pack started to get angry. Jase got lose for a second but was then recaptured.
"Keep him down", Ace demanded.
This led to one of his pack members punching Jase in the stomach. Spit flew from his mouth followed by an 'ack' sound. That kept him quiet. Sarah remained silent after that only jerking away if the other wolves got to close. The bell rang and it was then that they knew, all the humans are in class. They shifted and Ace angrily turned to them. In that moment of distraction, I kicked him in the stomach hard. He let go and I fell to the floor. Ace grunted in pain as he held his stomach. I greedily gasped for air.
Without thinking twice, Sarah and Jase helped me up then ran. We figured if we split up the pack would too. This made it easier to outrun them.
