Chapter 10: a chance

By the time I got home, the sun was setting. As soon as I got there, I collapsed on the ground. Blood was covering my fur.

My pack raced out and came to my aid.

"Alpha, are you ok!", Sarah asked with worry laced in her voice.

Alina smiled. My pack only call me alpha if it's absolutely important. Other than that I prefer to be considered as equals with my pack.

They both picked me up and brought me inside. I was set on the table and shifted. My clothes were torn but I didn't care. My pack is family we aren't ashamed of ourselves. Damn though, this was my favorite windbreaker. My wounds were healing but even though I had an advantage of being an alpha, the stupid mate bond will only allow my wounds to heal faster if my mate is here with me.

Through the mate bond, I mind linked Ace. Sadly.

'Ace are you there'

*No it's Blake*

'Who are you'

*I'm Ace's wolf, what do you want*

'Come quickly, I need to heal'

*Why should I*

'I know and I'm sorry but I.... I need you'

*Fine but only this time*

After that conversation with Blake there was silence. Only the sound of my heavy breathing and occasional whimpers can be heard.

Sarah was hugging herself in fear of my wellbeing and jerrica and Jase had looks of worry. I hated to see them like this.

Where the hell is Ace!

He better get here fast before Alina loses control. Soon after that Ace, I mean Blake, arrived. His eyes were still black.

I told my pack to go and they left me alone with Ace. Just perfect. Note the sarcasm.

He approached me cautiously. I flinched when he put his hand out. Blake let out a low growl and I froze in fear.I shouldn't be afraid and yet I can't help it. Tears started to prick my eyes when Blake's hand made contact with my skin. At first the wound stung but I got over it.

"I'm sorry", Blake said firmly as if he didn't want to say it.

To be honest it caught me off guard. I wasn't sure what to say but Alina was yelling at me to forgive him. Blake removed his hand from my shoulder and turned my head to face him. His eyes were no longer black.

"Ace?", I questioned cautiously so I won't get Blake mad.

Ace nodded and looked me in the eyes. We sat there for about a minute until he raised his hand to my face. Ace cupped my cheek and stared at me intently.

"Give me a chance", Ace stated more than asked.

"Ok", I replied softly.

Alina howled in joy but I was still hesitant. I don't know why I gave him a chance, the mate pull is getting to me. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to try this.
He seemed happy and shocked with my answer but tried to hide it with a serious face.

"As your mate, can I try something?", I asked while sitting up.

Ace looked hesitant but agreed. I don't know if my wolf took some control or it was the mate bond but I can't believe what I just did.

"Come closer", I whispered.

Ace didn't fight or anything, just listened. He put his hand on my lower back to heal my last wound. I winced at the pain. My hand found its way around Ace's neck and I pulled him closer to me until my lips barely brushed against his. By now I thought either me or Ace would pull away but neither of us did. I brought him closer and we kissed. It was both rough and soft at the same time. The Sparks that went through me made my wolf howl.

Ace's lips started moving so I moved mine in sync with his. When I pull away, he started trailing kisses from my jawline to my neck while sliding his hands to my thighs and rubbing them in a circular motion with his thumbs.

Ace started sucking on the spot where he would mark me and then I came to realization of what I was doing. I put my hands on his chest and softly pushed him away. He caught on to what I was doing and pulled away. I blushed at what just happened and looked away. Ace let out a low growl. I looked up to see his lust full eyes staring at me intently.

"Don't hide your blush from me!", Ace demanded.

I kept looking at my hand finding it the most interesting thing in the world. Once I was sure the blush was gone, I finally looked at Ace again.

"Look, I know I said that I would try this whole mate thing, but doesn't mean that you get to act like an ass hole or be overly protective of me", I said as nicely as possible.

Ace nodded but I knew he wouldn't listen. Suddenly my phone rang. I was surprised to see its still in good condition after everything that has happened. It was Chris. Apparently he has already called like 5 times.

"Hello"

"Thank goodness you answered, I've been calling for a while!", Chris said with relief.

Ace was looking at me possessivly.

I was bombarded with questions.

"Calm down Chris I'm fine", I said trying to hold my excitement from talking to him.

I feel like it's been forever since I've talked to him. Honestly I miss him, he's like and older and younger brother at the same time.

"Mine!", Ace growled.

Chris went quiet, knowing who it is that said 'mine'.

"Hey can you come over?", I asked trying to ignore Ace.

"Yeah sure", Chris said calmly.

"Make sure to bring James and Sienna", I stated. With that I ended the phone call.

I mind linked my pack. 'Meeting right now'

'Yes alpha', they responded in sync.

Eventually I left with my pack to the woods and told Chris to meet me there. Some how me and Chris's friendship grew and I'm happy about it. My pack, Ace, and I were waiting in a clearing.

Once I saw James, Sienna, and Chris, I ran to them. Chris was the first one I hugged. I ran and jumped on him, wrapping my legs around his waist and arms around his neck. I went too fast for him because we fell with an 'oof'. Chris was below me laughing and I sat up but ended up straddling him. I was giggling like crazy.

"Sorry, I got too excited", I said in between breaths.

Suddenly something grabbed my shoulder roughly and I was pulled up.

"Mine!", Ace growled at Chris.
