The Born-Again Identity.
I go out for a walk, leaving Sam and Dean in our motel room. I'm slowly jogging along a railway track when I bump into someone.
"Hey, bitch!" The person yells. I just keep going. I end up getting through a gate and into a heavily graffitied alleyway. A woman is leaving from a man, I walk closer to him.
"Dude. Get the hell away from me." The man says. I rub a hand over my face. "You speak friggin' English? Go away!"
"It's okay. No one's after me."
"Why are you running up in here like that?"
"Just... Just leave me alone." I say and slide to the ground with my back against a post.
"What the hell did you take, anyway?"
"Nothing."
"Shut up."
"No, she's telling the truth. Burned through that last beer hours ago. Right about the time Sam and Dean passed out. Come on, Ash. Tell the nice tweaker. You'd be sleeping by now if the devil would just leave you alone for five seconds. Stupid Satan. Chasing you all the way to... Where the hell are we?" Lucifer keeps talking.
"Gah! I just need some rest." I say.
"Hey, Ash. Try the hand scar."
"Ugh."
"How many days you been up, anyway?" The man asks me.
"Four. Oh. Wait," Lucifer looks at his watch, "Scratch that. Five." I get to my feet and start walking away.
"Hey, hold up! Wait! Hold up!" The man says. I turn around to face him. "You want a knock out? I can knock you out."

I ended up taking the dealer's offer. I'm able to get about 2 minutes of sleep in the guy's car when I hear the sound of glass shattering, I cover my face with my arms on reflex. When I look up, a bar is protruding through the windshield, I blink a couple times and when I look again it's gone and the windshield is intact. I get out of the car and Lucifer appears behind me.
"Good morning to you, good morning to you..." Lucifer sings, I walk away, "Our day is beginning, so good morning to you. I thought you liked my singing." He calls after me. He catches up to me. "Pills? You do get that you're bringing free drugs to the party, right? I am inside you, Ash. Hey. Ash. What's the longest a normal human being has ever gone without sleep? 11 days. Hey. You wanted to be normal, Ash!" I start running again. "If you are, you'll be dead in a week!" I run into the street and get hit by a car, sending me into the windshield and over the car onto the ground.

DEAN'S POV
Crap, crap, crap. I barge into the doctor's office.
"Okay, sir? You can't just barge in here without an appointment!" A nurse that followed me in here says.
"They said, 'Talk to Kadinsky'. You Kadinsky?" I ask the man sitting behind the desk.
"You need to be scheduled!" The nurse says.
"Well, then, schedule me! She was in a car crash. Why the hell can't I see her?"
"You're Ashlee Smith's husband."
"Yeah, what's going on?"
"It's fine. Thank you. Really." The doc says to the nurse, who then leave. "Ashlee was admitted. She was treated for a broken rib and lacerations."
"Okay, that's not too bad. And?"
"And... she's on our locked psychiatric floor."
"I mean, she's had some trouble..." I start.
"So you're aware that Ashlee is experiencing a full-blown psychotic episode?"
"Psychotic? Come on. I mean, she.... It's not like she's freakin' Norman Bates."
"No, I'm sure she isn't. We need to determine whether her state was brought on by the insomnia or whether the insomnia is a symptom of her condition. Do you understand? So that we can figure out a way to treat her."
"Well, all I can say is that the sleep thing is...is kind of new."
"Right. Well... we've pumped her about full of sedatives as we safely can. So far, she won't go under. I've never seen anything like it."
"Take me to her."
We walk out of his office to an elevator and to a different floor.
We go through a set of doors locked with a security code.

ASHLEE'S POV
Lucifer is sitting on a desk in my hospital room, playing with a piece of string. I'm lying on the bed in a white t-shirt and white hospital pants.

"I'm just sayin'. Back when you had no soul you never had to sleep." Lucifer says. Dean shows up at the door then walks in. "Ah, Mr. Helpless. Pull up a six-pack, buddy."

"How are you feeling?" Dean asks me lovingly.

"Maybe you should cancel my UFC fight." I say.

"Yeah. Keep that sense of humor, Ash. It'll get you through this." Lucifer says.
