A Not So Secret Crush

You woke up to your alarm clock screeching in your ear. You slammed your hand onto the snooze button and slowly rolled out of bed. You walked over to the mirror neatly hung on your bedroom wall and gave yourself a good look. You wanted to make sure you look prepared and confident, for today you would be confronting your secret admirer. Or in shorter terms, you would be confronting Zane. You took in a deep breath, your heart racing just from thinking about it. You were nervous, but you knew that this would be the start of something, today Zane would know how you truly felt about him. With that self pep-talk out of the way, you headed downstairs to continue getting ready for the day. 

Like every other day, you casually stepped out of your mom's car, waving to her from behind. Your hands tightly hugged the straps of your backpack as you made your way to the fountain in front of the school. You carefully sat down onto the edge of the fountain, trying to make it seem like you were only casually hanging out before the bell rang. Your eyes searched the crowds of people for Zane, but you weren't able to spot him at all. You started to question if the letter was really from Zane at all. No, that was silly. It had to be from Zane, it only made sense that way. Finally, you saw him heading over to exactly where you sat.

When he approached you, he looked in complete shock. "Y/N, it was you?!"

You gave him a puzzled look, "It was me what?"

"You were the one that gave me the note in my locker, I should have know!"

"No, no, no. YOU gave me a note, I never gave you anything..."

"I never gave you a note, all I did was get one."

"I got a note too, I just assumed it was from you. Do you think we've been tricked?"

He nods at you, "We have to have been, this totally seems like something I would have planned!"

You started to blush a little as you remembered what you were really here for, "So, do you like me?"

His eyes narrowed at you, "The real question is, do YOU like me?"

You felt your face immediately heat up, "W-Well I-I, fine you caught me. I really like you Zane, and I thought that this note meant that you liked me too...."

Author's Note: Only one chapter today, sorry guys! I would love to write another one, but I'm pretty busy with packing for my trip to New York. I'll be leaving tomorrow and I'm not sure what the plans are for Saturday, so if the chapter/chapters come out late that day, I'm most likely out and about. Hope you all understand! <3
