"Hi, hi-hello," I said pausing because I was going to start to stutter. "This is Lukas, I play the guitar on the corner and a woman in red came by. She dropped a twenty-dollar bill in my guitar case with a number on it, and I was wondering if this was her number?" I finished and it went quiet. "Hello?" I asked questioning.
"Yes, it's me and my name is Ambreea," her voice came through filling my ears.
"Yes, Ambreea." I said smiling to myself and laid back on my bed. "I like your name, it's very-"
"Different? Unique? Well make sure you spell it right when you save it into your phone, A-M-B-R-E-E-A." She said and I couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.
"Well okay, Ambreea." I said emphasizing her name, "what's with your disappearance for so long?"
"I had to go, take a trip, maybe just needed a break. Escape for a while." Her voice finished sighing at the end.
"Why?" I questioned and she signed heavily.
"Too much," she answered.
"Too much what?" I asked still confused on what she was talking about.
"School. Work. Family. Friends." She said each word then paused. "I wasn't happy, so I left. I'm back now."
"I see that," I said with a small laugh.
"Yes, well I know." She said then went quiet. "I should be going to bed now," she said and I nodded to myself.
"Okay, well goodnight Ambreea," I said then turned out my light.
"Goodnight, Lukas, see you soon." She said and the line cut off. I added her to my contacts and made sure her name was spelled correctly. Then I locked my phone and put it on the small table next to my bed. I laid down and fell asleep not too shortly after.
