~ One: Operation Confession ~

(Your P.O.V)
   You sigh as you sit in the freezing cold classroom. Why do schools always make it freezing in the warm seasons and blistering in the cold ones? Like school wasn't bad enough right!? You glance to the door as the bell rings and you groan, dropping your head. Late again. Your best friend, Marinette, was always late now-a-days, and all of her excuses were totally fake. Not only that, but she had blown off five sleepovers that you two had planned. You started to think she was avoiding you and was some kind of spy! You just missed her.. after all you did have a crush on her. A real one. Not some fleeting school girl crush, no, you actually liked her. Though.. you'd never have the guts to tell your friend how you truly felt for her.. well.. not yet anyways.
You glanced down at the invitation sticking out of your backpack, Saturday was your Sweet 16th birthday. The invitation was for Marinette.. if she showed up today you had hoped to give it to her. You could only hope that she would actually show up to it, but lately, that seemed more like wishful thinking than reality.
As you listened to the teacher drone on your lazy gaze was suddenly drawn to the door opening. You sat up, suddenly alert as you saw Mari creep into the room. She silently snuck her way to her seat beside you. You smiled at her as she sat and scribbled a note on a post it and stuck it in front of her.
"Mari! Where were you this time?!"
She looked down at it and then to you with a smile as she settled down and pulled out her post its. She scribbled something then stuck it in front of you.
"I'm soooo sorry! Issued home to finish an assignment I didn't have time to work in last night!" You rolled your eyes and scribbled something back to her.
"Why didn't you have time last night?"
"Family occasion!"
   "Alright, I'll let you copy my notes after class, okay?"
   "Thank you so much~! Je t'aime~! <3"
   "Je t'aime~" you slid the note to her with a smile and a small sigh. No, of course she didn't mean it the way you did. You said it because you really did love her.. she said it because you two were best friends. As the class dragged on and the teacher spouted useless things you started to doze off a bit. But of course as you head slipped from your hand and hit the desk the bell rang waking you right up. You shook your head stood as you collected your things, taking your notes from your book and sliding them to Mari.
"Thank you so much as always (Y/n)!" She giggled brightly.
"You're welcome, oh umm.. so this is for you!" You said as you took your invitation form your book bag and handed it to her. She smiled down at it and nodded.
"I'll do my absolute best to be there!"
"You'd better! This is a way for you to make up for all the sleepovers that you've canceled!" You giggled.
"Then I swear to make an appearance!" She said as you two walked from that class towards your next.
"Where have you being running off to lately, Mari? I know you better than anyone, so that means I know that every place you have supposedly been, have been lame excuses!" You glare softly at her. She laughs and scratches the back of her head.
"(Y/n) I swear that everything I have told you is true!" She gushes to you.
"Mmhmm.. I still don't believe you.. but okay!" You smiled. She rolls her eyes then smiles as she links her arm with yours as you walk.
   "Hey! What do you say I come over after school? That sound fun?"
   "It's does if you don't have somewhere to be spontaneously!"
   "I won't! I promise!"
   "I'm holding you to those words!" You say as you giggled poked Mari's cheek. She nods and smiles.
   "Alright, I'll see you after class! Je t'aime~!"
   "Je t'aime.." you said abit quietly as she walked away and you turned into your classroom. You walked in and plopped into your seat next to your male best friend, and the friend who wasn't your crush. You had a bland expression on your face and he gave you an odd look. Sometimes you swore he knew you better than anyone.
   "Okay, spit it out (Y/n), is it Mari again?" The smooth voice of Adrien Agreste spoke. He got your attention very quick when he used your real name, it was a rare thing and meant that he meant business.
   "Yeeesss," you groaned. He knew you liked Mari more than a friend, which is why he never returns her feelings.
   "Awe, cheer up chaton! I'm sure things will come full circle and you two will live happily every after!" Chaton.. a nickname given to you my Adrien, meaning kitten. Only because when you sneezed, you sounded like a kitten!
   "Ace she doesn't like me that way.. I know it for a fact! I don't think she ever will.." Ace.. a nickname given to him by yourself, only because when you two first met, he claimed he wanted to be a world renowned pilot and call himself 'Ace'. So you did him the honor of being his first fan. Though he dropped the silly day dream long ago, he still adored your nickname.
   "I'm sure she will, what's not to like!" He smiles at you sort of sadly.
   "I don't think Mari likes girls.. Ace we know she has a crush on you, so why would I think she likes me!"
   "Oh please, there are plenty of people who are Bisexual!"
   "I know.. I just.. UGH. I wish I could have as much hope as you!"
   "I wish I could rub some of my hope off onto you, but hats not host he world chooses to function. So gain more confidence and just tell her! You'll never know if you don't try! What have you got to loose?!"
   "My best friend.."
   "If she really is your best friend she'll simply deny you softly, and continue to be your bestie!"
   "Do you understand how incredibly awkward it will be for both of us if she doesn't like me back?"
   "I guess I see your issue.. but still! You're gonna have to tell her someday, you can't hide it forever. If I were you I'd tell her before she finds out for herself. At least when you tell her you know exactly what she's hearing and its on your terms." He shrugs.
   "I mean.. she's supposedly coming over later.."
   "Supposedly?"
   "Well.. she's been MIA a lot lately.. come to think of it.. so have you!" You sit up and give him a weird look.
   "Chaton, I swear on my life that Mari and I are NOT a thing! Okay?" You nod in response, seeing the genuine like in his striking green gaze. You could always tell when he was lying. So you knew he was speaking the truth.
   "You both need to stop disappearing randomly.. it's starting to stress me out!"
   "Don't worry chaton, everything will work out. I promise! Now you said she's coming over right?"
   "Hopefully, why?"
   "Tell her. Today. When she comes over tell her!"
   "Are you kidding me?! I can't do that!"
   "Why not! There is nothing holding you back but yourself! You just have to get that boost of confidence and say what's in your heart!" You breathe out a long sigh then smile a little and nod.
   "O-okay! I'll do it!"
   "Really?!"
   "Yes! I'm gonna do it! Like you said, I'd rather tell her on my own terms!" You smiled. He held up his hand and you high-fived him. He chuckled.
   "So Operation Confession is a go?"
   "Affirmative! Operation Confession is a go!" You giggled as the bell rang. Today was the day you would finally tell her what 'Je t'aime' really means to you.
