The alarm went off what felt like only two minutes later. I rose and began to undress and head for the shower. Mark was still knocked out. I showered, dressed, and then woke him up. "Sleepy head, I have to get going here soon." I said. Mark's eyes opened and he gave a great yawn. "Okay...I'm up." He said, getting up and heading into the bathroom. I dragged my luggage to the vehicle and placed it in the trunk and waited for Mark to come down. After what felt like a year, he came down, hair still wet from showering. He looked so sexy with his hair all wet. Suddenly I wished that the two of us had made love last night. As we headed for LAX, we talked about what I was going to see in Germany. I assured him that I wasn't there to be a tourist...I'd wait to do that until he could come along. I got out of the vehicle, retrieved my luggage and looked at Mark. Suddenly I felt scared. I was going to be alone for who knows how long. I didn't know how long I would be able to talk to him each time, or when. I was quite concerned. Mark saw my worry. "Just go. Hurry, and don't look back. Please. Make it easier." I obeyed. I simply grabbed my luggage and headed into the terminal. I heard a sniffle from Mark and almost turned around to say something, but I knew he'd be furious. He was having a harder time saying goodbye than I was. I checked in for my flight, dropped my luggage off and sat in the terminal waiting. My phone buzzed. It was Mark. "Be safe, I love you, call me as soon as you can. I know your phone won't work, but we have Skype and you have your family's phone." I replied to the text and leaned back in my seat. This was going to be a long trip, especially without Mark. We had never been apart for more than a few hours.

MARK

I don't know what to think about (y/n) leaving. I know she has to go for her brother. It'd be selfish for me to sit here and try to beg her to cancel her trip. She'll never see her brother again after this...I know if she comes back she'll regret it forever. I just wish I could go with her to keep my eye on her. She barely even speaks German! Of course, she still knows more than I do, but I'm stronger than her. I really didn't want to have to dot this, but to keep an eye on her I HAVE to send Dark with her. It's the only way.

OBSERVER

Dark is a creepy soul. He's made up of all of the dark things inside of all of us. Hatred, fear, anger, rage, lies...he's nothing to mess with. Mark held the knife in his hand, he hated slicing his palms, but it was worth it this time. With one quick slash, he drew his own blood and watched it pool on the floor below him. When enough had run out onto the tiles, the blood began bubbling and hissing like it was acid eating through the floor. First came the dark hair. Then came the silver eyes, and finally the rest of him. He was quite a sight. He looked like a handsome demonic corpse. "You rang?" He said. "I don't have time to play games, Dark. I need your help." Mark said. "You do?" Dark sang in a mocking tone. "What ever for, and what ever with?" Mark grew irritated with Dark. "I need you to watch (y/n) and keep her out of harm's way." Dark pondered this, floating around the room on his back. "I suppose I could do this." He said. "You have to." Dark frowned. "No, I don't have to do anything. I can reabsorb back inside of you anytime I want to." "Then I'd cut my hand again." "Then I'd reabsorb again. Besides, I don't have to come out. It's a courtesy thing." "Dark. Stop. This is serious. (Y/N) is going to Germany to be with her brother and I can't go. Nobody except for me and people I'm close with can see you, you'd blend right in. I just need someone to go with her." Dark hovered near Mark. "What's in it for me? I never work for free." Mark was appalled. "You're tethered to me. (Y/N) is my girlfriend. Help me out here, dude." Dark pondered this. "Fine. What do you want me to do?" "Just follow her. Not so closely that she's looking at you, people will think she's insane. Just find a way onto the plane and stay close behind her. Protect her. I'm giving you the go ahead to do anything and everything necessary to keep her safe. If that means you have to kill someone, so be it." Dark's eyes lit up at the thought of killing someone. "Deal!" He exclaimed. Dark snapped his fingers and left a skull-shaped cloud of black smoke behind. Mark blew into it, watching it swirl and fade away.

YOU

I was hoping I'd get another text from Mark, or at least see some activity from him on Facebook. Unfortunately I saw nothing. I guess he was too distraught. Oh well. I patiently waited for my flight to be called and was rather pleased when it was. I've never liked to sit and wait. I quickly took my seat and put my phone into airplane mode. As we waited for takeoff, my mind drifted to Mark. I wished that I could call him but I knew better than to attempt to use my phone right before pushback. It would've been rude and inconsiderate. My only good feeling came from having a window seat right on the wing. I loved sitting right above the wing for some reason. As I felt the plane being forced backwards I noticed a thump and the wing outside my window wobbling a bit. I looked out the window and saw Dark sitting on the wing right outside of my window. He rapped his knuckle on the window and winked at me. I just stared in disbelief. Mark must've sent him. He sat back and lit a cigarette, waiting for the plane to take off just like everyone else. Once we were rolling down the runway, Dark laid down on the wing and held onto the front of it. It was quite comical watching his legs hang off of the back of the wing, and his hair swoosh back in the wind. He remained suspended like that until we reached our cruising altitude. I was feeling sleepy but Dark kept me awake by periodically rapping on the window, making goofy faces, and changing himself into animals capable of flying right beside the plane. I smiled at it. At one point, I lost him. He flew backwards from the wing after attempting to stand up. I gasped and the woman next to me eyed me with concern. She probably thought I was nuts. After my eyes darted about for a few minutes, I saw Dark climbing back up onto the wing. He gave me a sheepish grin and positioned himself on the wing again. The flight to Germany was longer than I expected and relatively boring. The only thing I had to entertain myself with were Dark's antics. When we finally landed, it was already dinner time in Germany. Dark locked eyes with me. He snapped his fingers and disappeared from the wing, leaving behind a black cloud shaped like a smiley face. I had no idea where he went to. I deplaned and waited for my bags. "Hello, (y/n)." Dark said. I locked eyes with Dark and slightly shook my head. Dark floated around next to me, flipping and gliding through the air. As I saw my sister-in-law running to me, Dark disappeared behind an airline desk. "Hello (y/n)." I smiled. "Hi...it's been awhile. How's Andrew today...?" My sister-in-law's face changed. "He's hanging on, but not by much." I was saddened by that. "We should go now, there isn't a whole lot of time to lose." I grabbed my bags and followed her. I looked over my shoulder. Dark was lingering behind us. He stayed right by my side all the way to the car, and then changed himself into a small black bird. He perched himself on my finger. "Where did that bird come from?" My heart felt like it was going to explode. "I...uh...I don't...it just landed on me randomly." "That's all well and good Snow White, but Andrew can't be around animals right now. You're gonna have to wash your hands really well before you can see him. He's so bad off that even our dog isn't allowed to go near him. That's one of the things that bothers him so. We don't have any way for Benji to sit on the bed with him. He misses that dog." I gave Birdyplier a dirty look. He chirped at me and flew away. "I'll wash up. Don't worry...animals follow me no matter where I end up. They love me." Dark peeked in my window from the roof of the car. His face was apologetic. I waved him off. "What are you waving at?" I froze again. "There was a bug. It flew by my ear." My sister-in-law looked skeptical. She started the vehicle and before too long we were well on our way to Andrew's bedside. I wanted to call Mark and let him know I'd arrived safely, I was sure he was worried, but I figured it'd be rude to immediately ask to have a phone call after only being in Germany for such an important thing for a matter of less than an hour. I waited until we arrived at our destination to pull Dark aside. "Dark. I need you to go home and tell Mark that I'm okay. You don't have to stay long, just let him know. I can't call him right now, it would be rude. Also, tell him I love him deeply." Dark put his hand out. "Tip me and you've got it, girl." I spit into his hand, which of course was the same thing as spitting onto the ground. "Well, that was rude. You're lucky I can't touch you, or I'd smack you one. One message for Mark delivered post haste. Got it. I'll be back now that I know where to find you." With a snap of his fingers and a black airplane shaped cloud he was gone.

MARK

I really hope (y/n) is okay. I wish she was here right now. I'm lonely and all I want is to wrap my arms around her. The windows began rattling and the room began shaking. Suddenly, Dark was standing in front of me. I was shocked. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Calm down. (Y/N) sent me. She wants me to let you know she's fine, she can't call you just yet, and she loves you. Deeply. I smiled. "You're doing well Dark." I said. "I can only do well. My whole life is well and I'm made of pure evil." Dark winked. "Is there anything you'd like me to give her?" He asked. I pondered that for awhile. "Actually, yes, there is one thing..."
