Chapter 3 - Diagnosis
Every moment passed by in a blur. I vaguely remember riding in an ambulance with some young guy sitting next to me holding my hand. I slowly opened my eyes feeling warmth wrapped around my right hand as it was placed on my side. He smiled down at me as he noticed I was semi-conscious. His blond hair falling in front of his hazel eyes, I had to be hallucinating because he seemed to be glowing, full of life. The only problem was he looked a little worried behind that beautiful grin of his.
“Are you alright?” I took in a painful breath as I listened to his voice for the first time. His voice sang with hope but also fear.
“Who…are you?” I was able to say but only softly under a whisper. He smiled again placing his hand on my cheek ever so slightly.
“You already know” He bent down towards me and placed a kiss on my cheek where his hand was seconds ago. A jolt went through my spine, tingling in my fingertips and the feeling of is lips lingered on my cheek. I closed my eyes; very dim lighting made my head throb even more than it already was. I remembered somebody caught me or was that someone picking me up from a sudden fall? Who knows or cares at the moment, I only cared of the lack of no pillow placed under my painful head. Drifting off I kept remembering him, probably one of the paramedics in the ambulance who is paid to do this stuff. I might on the other hand be suffering from a head injury that would explain it all…

“Ronnie you okay?” I shook my head to clear the blurriness in my vision. I smiled as I placed my elbows on the medal bleachers as I watched the football team practice for their big game.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” I asked taking my attention to the girl next to me who looked worried as she put her strawberry blonde hair in a loose bun.
“Well for starters Derek is totally checking you out and you’re not even noticing”
“That’s impossible” I laughed thinking she was so delusional.
“Suit yourself” looking to my right there he was staring at me with his piercing sapphire eyes. He was such a jerk, being popular and all.
“Well I guess you were right, but Hayden lets go get ready for tonight” She jumped up squeezing me into a hug.
“You’re going!” She squeaked in excitement.
“Well of course” I pulled her arms off me trying not to suffocate from her squeezing me.
“This is going to be a night to remember!” I giggled as we walked down the bleachers and headed to the parking lot.
“Ya a night to remember alright” I whispered to myself. Hayden looped her arm in mine as we walked to the car on the other side of the lot.
“You know I actually can’t wait”
“Really, why?” she asked with amusement.
“For starters this isn’t your normal ball”
“Got that right. It’s going to be epic” She smiled at me reassuring it was okay to be excited about this. For one thing I was supposed to meet him there, the man I’ve been waiting my whole life for. This dress had to be killer, first impressions are everything.

Dreams were always strange to me. However, this one seemed familiar in a way, a memory somehow. I drifted back to reality after receiving only flash of a dream that seemed out of place and useless.
