Ella was done meeting rich guy after rich guy when all she really wanted was someone who could make her laugh at anything. Ella was done pretending to be happy.
So one night, Ella decided that enough was enough. Ella ditched the lame ass ball she was forced to attend and went to a concert.
All she left behind was a shoe...
What ensues next is the hilarious chase for Ella, with the twenty seventh in line for the throne of England (Edward), Ella's hysterical mother and her best friend, Ria (that would be me).

Chapter/Excerpt:
All that my best friend, Ella Glassman, told me was that she was ditching the lame-ass ball that she was forced to attend for a concert.
I didn't care that much. I was like, "good for you Ella, go chase your dreams and shit!"
So, imagine my surprise when I received a phone call the next morning from her angry and distressed mother, who was crying, "Ria, look what you've done to her! Evil child!"
"Chill, Mrs. Glassman, what're you talking about?" I asked, yawning.
"Ella! My sweet little Ella has run away! She left me a message on my cell phone, which I saw after I spent hours searching for her last night at the ball. This is all because of your influence!" She explained, sobbing.
According to Mrs. Glassman, I was the reason that Ella had decided to run away.
I was as shocked as she was because Ella had told me nothing about running away.
"Okay, um, have you tried calling her?" I asked.
"Of course! I called to see if you would call her. Maybe she'll pick up your calls," Mrs. Glassman spat. "Because she'd rather pick up a delinquent's call than her own mother's!"
Typically, I would've fired back with something witty, but seeing as Mrs. Glassman was literally sobbing and in tears, I decided to dial Ella.
I quickly hung up and called my friend. After listening to the line ring for what seemed like forever, I finally heard Ella's voice.
Unfortunately, it was her voicemail.
I called Mrs. Glassman back. She picked up immediately. "Well? Did she pick it up?"
"No. But I think I can help you out," I said.
"What do you mean? My baby has run away and now she won't pick up any of my calls!" she cried. Suddenly, I heard a loud thump, and figured that she had thrown the phone on to the ground.
I rolled my eyes. My best friend's mother was always one for the dramatics.
"Sorry, my aunt is a little bit...distraught," a male, British voice picked up. "Anyways, I may be of some use, seeing as I found this slipper of hers, which might lead us to clues about her wherea-"
"Tell Mrs. Glassman that Ella went to this concert last night. Maybe if we go there, we can see if anyone knows anything or if she left something behind," I interrupted.
"Concert? That doesn't seem like something my cousin would do," he said.
Annoyed, I asked, "And who are you anyways?"
"I am Edward Kingsley the third, twenty seventh in line for the royal throne of England. Oh, and I'm also Ella's distant cousin. I've come to the States so I can complete my college education," he announced proudly.
I paused awkwardly for a moment, before snorting. "Well, listen Eddie, I'll be over in like twenty minutes. Be ready," I said.
"It's actually Edward," he corrected.
"And I actually don't care," I responded and hung up.
I groggily walked to my mirror and cringed at the monster that stood before my eyes. I groaned and dragged a palm down my face.
It was the first day of my first summer as an emancipated child, and I was going to be spending it with my best friend's psychotic mom and her annoying british cousin because my best friend had decided to go MIA and get a life.
Just perfect.
