"Damn"I said as rain drops started falling from the sky.
"Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse"
I ran down the block in this small little town until I finally reached a cafe with an open sign in the window. I was drenched by the time I reached the doorway, the air conditioner in this place didn't help either, its so fucking cold.
"Well thats one way to make people look at you" a man said a few seats over.
"Excuse me?" I stammered, baffled.
"Well you know, some girls come in looking all dolled up, hoping to get a few free drinks, maybe even a hook up, but look at you, outshining all those other girls looking like...that"
I was shocked, and almost rendered speechless, until I managed to see his face. His orange hair was off to the side, and his expensive clothing seemed out of place considering how small of a town this place was, and the attitude in his voice may seem obnoxious, but his eyes were so sad and dark. I took a breath and answered calmly, "At least I'm not trying to run away from my problems, whats a guy like you doing in a town like this?"
I could tell he was taken aback, he probably assumed I would have gotten angry at him, maybe spill his drink on him. It only took him a second to recover though, he responded "..W-well my family owns a villa out in the country, its so we have a place to relax from our busy schedules, not like you know much about that, you seem so carefree if you cant even remember a simple umbrella." I couldn't help but stare at him as he takes a drink from his scotch. What a douch, I'm not dealing with this, I thought. I slowly gathered my things averting his eyes and start walking towards the door. Its still raining but it doesn't matter, as long as I can get away from him, you thought. I was standing on the street corner at the stoplight waiting to cross until I heard a voice from behind me. "Hey!" He calls out, under his umbrella.
"What do you want from me?! Im in there for two minutes and somehow I offended you but its not my fault that your life is falling to pieces, so don't take it out on me. Just leave me alone." He stopped a few feet away from me and hands me his umbrella, as he's getting soaked by the rain.
"What are you doing!? Your clothes are going to be ruined!"
"You're right... I was being a dick, I wanted to apologize, and don't worry about the clothes, my family's rich remember." He winked at me, arm still stretched out. It took a moment for me to take it, and once I did he just stood there awkwardly with me. This is the longest freaking light ever. "Where are you headed?" He asks. Hands in pockets.
"Tokyo." He nods and stands there again.
"Are you going to stand there or do u want to get under the umbrella too?"
"Thought you'd never ask. How are you going to get to Tokyo from here? You are literally in the middle of nowhere."
The light changed and I started crossing the street, as he follows like a lost dog.
"...I was hoping a taxi would come by..."
He stared at me, laughing like a hyena.
"You do know this is the smallest little town you'll ever be, no taxi would be out here unless you took it here from the city. How'd you get here anyways??"
"You're really nosey, you know that?"
"So I've been told" he retorted. "...Soo??"
I stopped walking because i knew it was useless, I had no where to go. "I was out in the country to help my dad settle in at his new home. He just got a new job recently and now i have to go back to Tokyo for work Monday but the closest train is a few towns over. I called a taxi service from my fathers land line, but they said they don't have cars go that far into the country, so I walked here hoping I could get a signal on my phone, which is ruined by the way, and see if they would be willing to meet me here or find someone to help me. Obviously both didn't work out very well."
I was out of breath, and on the verge of tears by the time I finished explaining and all he said was, "Well...I could help you if you want."
I stared at him, "what?"
"Well I don't want you to go around talking about how rude I was to this little town, everyone here knows me and I cant have that looking bad on my family's company." He said as he crossed his arms. Who does this guy think he is?
"I don't even know your name, why should I trust you?"
"Oh, thats my bad, my name is Hikaru Hitachin, its a pleaser to me you.... And you are??" He said As he bowed to me like a gentleman... Not that hes much of one.
"(Y/n).... Its nice to meet you too..."
