The next seven months brought out the best and worst of both Niall and Zayn.

Adam won't sleep, won't eat and won't stop squirming, no matter how much cuddling and attention he's given. This worries Zayn, especially as he stops himself in the threshold of the nursery - though the corner of his mouth tugging up into a small smirk at the sight of his two favourite people in the universe out like lights on the plush armchair in the corner.

He knows better than to just waltz in and wake them up, so he dims the lights instead and turns around, wandering into the master bedroom to change out of his day clothes.

"Zayn..?" A soft voice calls from the doorway, and he turns his head, his sight falling on a tired looking Niall rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. They smile at eachother and step closer, wrapping eachother in a loving embrace. "Adam ate today,"

"Really?" Zayn raised his dark eyebrows, smiling brightly - guiding his longtime fiance over to their bed, helping him under the covers. "That's great, love."

Niall just hummed in response, closing his eyes.

Both families have been over to their townhouse constantly, showering them with gifts they have no room for and love for the baby and their own sons themselves. It was nice, but it was tiring.. lots of work still had to be done to well.. everything. Zayn and Niall were barely engaged anymore, what with all the baby stuff. They didn't mind holding off but they surely wanted things to be official.

Who wouldn't.

Niall was jolted awake in the whee hours of the morning by a loud wail, sighing in a mildly frustrated tone before readying himself to be completely woken up. He sat up but was stopped halfway by a hand to his waist, holding him back. "I got him." Niall smiled tiredly and let himself sink back down onto the mattress, hugging one of his pillows tightly.

The crying had stopped almost immediately after Zayn had gotten up and padded in, having never really taken the night shift like this before. It shocked him how quickly Adam adapted to being held in a different pair of arms, but he grew fond of the action once the baby had snuggled into him and fallen asleep again. Zayn gave in and decided to just bring the baby back to the main bedroom, climbing in carefully next to Niall whilst making sure Adam wasn't in any danger of hurting himself during sleep.

It was five AM anyways, not like anything bad could happen since all three would be awake in a mere hour or two.

"C'mon, Adam. You like peaches. Don't you?" Niall spoke in a soft, baby-ish tone, holding a rubber spoon full of pureed peaches a few centemeters away from Adam's small mouth. He was sat in a highchair in the kitchen, his dad sat infront of him trying to make the whole experience a "fun" one.

Zayn wandered in shortly after, his eyebrows raised at what he was seeing, cracking a grin. "Any luck?"

"Nope," Niall sighed, lowering the spoon and letting it sit on the tray attached to the front of the highchair, taking the bib from around the baby's neck. Just as he did though, Adam decided to dip a few fingers into the puree and smear it over his mouth, giggling as he did so. "It's like he's doing it on purpose. He won't let me feed him but as soon as I turn away he stuffs his face."

Zayn stepped infront of the chair, kneeling so he could be face to face with the infant, narrowing his eyes playfully. "Are you being difficult?"

The baby kept giggling, his big brown eyes resembling Zayn's on-point. His actions made both men's hearts flutter, but Niall rolled his eyes playfully as an addition. "He's being way more than difficult, but atleast he's trying to feed himself. That's one less thing we have to teach him." He grinned, poking the baby's nose lightly.
