Chapter 5

The Arraisian protection squad were all in the great hall of Clamanco academy discussing what they were going to do. Avery and Apollo had found out that one of their own had been the leader of that drug trafficking ring and he had not only attacked a police officer who had tried to restrain him, he had attacked a fellow Protector as well. The Protection squad were like a very close family. Not many people in their line of work survived the years of training, so those who did make it formed a strong bond with one another.

"Plead your case, Colton," Cassie said.
"Why should we listen too what that Traitor has to say!!" Sam shouted. "He could've killed Rimmy!!! He threatened one of our own!! That boy ain't one of us!!!"

Sam and Rimmy had gone through the duel and training with one another. Sam thought of Rimmy as a brother. He had spent the last 72 hours at Rimmy's bedside. He would do anything for him and the other members of his family.

"Sam is right," David said. Cassie could see that her friend was trying to contain his anger. David was furious and he had every right to be. He and Rimmy were brothers by blood. They were both children of Aion, Lord of the Hunt. David and his family wanted Colton banished or killed, and rightly so. Cassie agreed with the boys. They could have lost a brother and friend and there were very few of them as it was. But she still had to hear Colton's side of the story.
"I just wanted a few extra bucks. That's all."
David launched himself at Colton and put the boy in a choke hold. "I don't believe you, Colton. You attacked my lil bro for a few extra bucks?"
"Look David. It was an accident. I swear, man!"
David slammed Colton to the ground.
"Your not worth my time, Colton. All of us have more important things to do then listen too an idiot lie to our faces.
Cassie was about to answer but Ricky cut in.
"Cassie I say we let Lord Aion deal with him."
"Lord Aion has more pressing matters to attend too."

Colton tried to stand up but Sam raised a hand and wove a magical net around him. Cassie tried to speak but then phone rang. Cassie hurriedly answered it. She wanted today to be over. Salem, Sky, Ricky and David came to her side. "Hello?"
"Cassie, this is Gabriel. We have a problem."
"What is it, sir?"
"A pack of Gone have escaped the Dark Forest."
Cassie said a prayer.
"Put the little boy in prison J."
The siren went off, signaling a code red.
"Load up, boys and girls."
