*Joe Manganiello plays Jack, Olivia's guardian*

-

"Who the hell are they?" Jack demanded, pointing at Edward and Emmett.

Distrust was written all over his face. It was understandable. Good natured vampires weren't really known in the world. It was rare enough to have come across Edward and Emmett. Vampires in general meant bad news. To shifters, anyway.

I shrugged. "Vampires. This is Edward and Emmett. We met while I was on my run. They're good, I guess. We can trust 'em."

He raised a single eyebrow. "And how do you know that, Olivia? You've never met vampires before. I have! You shouldn't have gone alone. I shouldn't have let you. Know what? You're done. You're not shifting unless I'm there with you."

My eyes widened in shock and I took a step away from Jack. The amount of rage coming off him had been staggering. It wasn't normal for Jack to be so angry, especially after explaining that I trusted these two. However he was angry beyond reason and frankly, I'd never seen this side of him before.

It wasn't even like him to ban me from shifting. He knew how important shifting was to a shifter, especially to someone young like me. He would never ban me unless it was important. But Edward and Emmett weren't dangerous.

"What?" I whispered, narrowing my eyes at him. "You can't ban me from shifting! You know you can't!"

"Your being reckless, Olivia," was all he stated.

"No," I scoffed at him, crossing my arms. "I'm not being reckless. I knew exactly what was happening when I led these two back here. They're freaking vegetarians, you meathead! When have you known vampires to be vegetarians?"

This definitely derailed Jack as he didn't expect this come from my mouth. He took a step back, eyes flickering to the two vampires behind, who also surprised me. When Jack and I started yelling at each other, I would have thought they would have high-tailed it out of here. I guess not.

"Yeah, that's right. You heard me. Vegetarians. Vampires," I stared at Jack hard, raising a single eyebrow when his eyes met mine. It sent a silent look that told him to apologize to the two of them. They didn't deserve his prejudice.

Jack rolled his eyes as he sighed. It was then that I knew I'd won this argument. He looked behind me to Edward and Emmett and began apologizing.

"Look, I'm sorry for acting this way. This pup," he said, jabbing a finger in my direction, "worries me like hell and when she didn't come home till after dark, I got scared. Doesn't mean it's okay to judge you and your family, but you've gotta understand. Normal vampires are trouble for us."

Emmett shrugged, clearly not offended by Jack's behavior. Edward smiled at him and nodded. He understood what he meant all too well. Mind-reader.

"No worries," Edward said, taking a step further knowing there wasn't any trouble. "We've never really met any other shifters than the ones that live around here."

At this news, Jack's eyes widened and took a few steps toward Edward. He reacted like I knew he would. "There's what? Other shifters? Where? What are they like?" he said, firing a million and one questions at them. "Can we meet them?"

The corner of Edward's lip turned up, knowing how right I was when I told him how excited Jack would be when he found out about the other shifters. It made me laugh.

"They're Quileutes who live on the Native American reservation nearby," Edward explained the shifters to Jack. I listened too because I wanted to learn more about them. "Although they're technically shapeshifters, they take on the name of werewolves. It's mainly because the form they take. Large wolves. And they... Smell differently then you. Worse, actually."
