Old friends new love

The Book

When I was done my report I put it away and pulled out the book from the library. It was a red book with gold corners and a gold 6 fingered hand with a 3 on it in the middle of the cover. It also had a few tares in it so you could tell it was old.
While I was trying to decode it Easton was reading his book. He was a fast reader. He could read a 500 page book in about two days! I'm not kidding you.
We where there all afternoon. But then around 6 my mom texted me saying we had to come home but if we wanted we could have a sleep over at my place.
"Easton you up for a sleep over at my place tonight?" I asked.
"Sure but can I swing by my house on the way so I can grab some stuff" he asked.
"No problem I'll tell my mom that we will be there in about 20 minutes" I told him.
After we went by Easton's house and we had just walked in the door when my mom said.
"Oh good just in time I just put the food on the table, we are having cheese burgers and Mac~n~cheese."
"Ooooo" Easton and I said at the same time. We all started to laugh. We ate dinner and then hung out in my room till about 11:00 then we fell asleep.
In the morning we had pancakes and then headed to the club house. I kept working on the book. Easton just read and played on his phone. I sat there all day trying to figure it out but then at about 2:00...
"I GOT IT!" I yelled
"You got what?!" Easton asked
"The book I decoded the first page!"I said with excitement.
"What does it say?"
"Well let's see." I said as I flipped to the first page.
