Chapter 4~ I Hate Everything

Of course I was running late.

My socks were on uncomfortably, my pants weren't buttoned, and my shirt was still half way off my body.

Oh, and my shoes were sitting in my passenger seat and I was driving to school while brushing my hair.

What happened, you ask? Well, due to someone who lived behind me, I couldn't sleep a wink without imagining his eyes. His evil. Evil eyes.

I will kill you, no one step in my way today.

My car pulled up in the parking lot three minutes pass the late bell. The first day of school. Screw me over and chew me sideways, or however the saying goes.

"Annnndddd there aren't any fucking parking spots!" I screamed in anger and pounded my steering wheel. "Stupid students getting to school on time!"

All I wanted to do was sleep. And cuddle Junebug. I hope she's not hungry.

"Finally!" I yelled when I saw a spot three rows from the entry. I quickly pulled my handy dandy suburban into the spot. That took three tries. Stupid tank.

I grabbed hold of my plain black backpack, the same one I had since my freshman year, and shuffled my way inside. Maybe I won't be written as tardy since it's only the first day back. With crossed fingers, I slid inside after stumbling through the hallways looking for the first class on my new schedule.

Math that disguised itself as science. Of course. Physics, in other words.

Seriously, why?

I can't do math to save my life.

"Welcome to class, Loria Ryvers, nice of you to join us." Mr. What's his face said stone faced.

"I'm sorry, I got lost." I mumbled and moved to sit next to Olive, who had been waving the second my face showed up through the window of the door. She brought me in for a big hug, even though we only saw each other last week at work, I still missed my bestie.

"I have stuff to tell you," I whispered before facing the front, listening to the first of many boring 'Welcome to Class' intros.

Once again. Why.

"If you have an emergency, just get up and leave--" smack. Right at the back of my head.

What the--?

Smack.

Oh no, I thought the whole bullying thing wasn't cool anymore.

I swiveled around in my small stiff chair and looked around the room behind me. The kid directly behind my desk was fast asleep, and right behind them--

Smack.

And my day just got a million times worse.

He waved enthusiastically at me, and for the first time in my entire life, I raised one finger at him.

My middle one.

My mom would be so proud.

"Ms. Ryvers!" Mr. Hunt stopped his intro and pulled my attention back to him. "Pay attention." At least he didn't see my magical finger, right?

"And lunch detention. I don't tolerate bullying in my class." He finished before turning back to the power point.

I hear laughter from behind me, and Olive was watching me with an odd look in her eyes. Slowly her lips pulled up in a manner that was a bit creepy, so I furrowed my eyebrows at her.

"Who's he?" She whispered.

"An ass hat." I slumped down in my seat. "Ignore him."

"Whatever you say," Olive sang.

"I still can't believe you flipped him off! Ria, you never do anything remotely like that!" Olive could barely keep her composure. Her shoulders were shaking. Any second now and she may just combust out of excitement.

"Wait, Ria did what?" Ethan came up to our lunch table and sat down next to me. "This Ria? I don't believe it."

"He deserved it." I shot back and stuffed a chicken nugget in my mouth. The color was odd. It definitely was not chicken.

"She's growing up. Our baby is growing up." Kyle pulled Olive closer to him and wiped an invisible tear from his eye.

"I know! Just yesterday she was still drinking apple juice." She burried her face in his shoulder.

"Guys," I punched Olive's shoulder, "wake up. There are people in this world that need to be stopped. Fucking Zavier is one of them."

"I don't know Ria, the only threat here sounds to be you." Ethan threw his arm around me playfully. I think. "We need to subdue her."

Nope. Not playfully. I immediately tried to pull away from him but he held me tight and started to tickle me.

"Eth- Ethan!" I squeezed through my laughter. "St-stop!"

"Shouldn't you be at detention right now?" Ethan suddenly stopped thankfully. "You might need to go before they count you absent."

"Ugh, you're right. Okay, bye everyone. I hate you Ethan." I reached down and stole one of his chicken nuggets. He made a noise of disapproval but didn't try to stop me any more than that.

***

Let me tell you a secret; I have never been to detention. My entire existence I have never gotten in so much trouble that this happened.

It's a first.

The room was musty and unforgiving, the three other students in there sat with desks diving them and none rose their heads when I came in.

That's good, I guess. I don't want to start a reputation with these trouble makers.

Still, I curse Zaviers name for putting me in this situation.

Who even throws spit balls anymore? What is he, twelve?

Anyways, when I found a spot in the deserted corner (I say deserted because there was an empty spiders web. Or maybe that was a cob web) and took out a piece of paper.

"No time consuming activities," Mr. Steward, the detention and gym teacher, reminded from up front.

Well, great.

I'm going to have the best hour of my existence.

Yes. That was sarcasm. Again.

Chapter 4 done! Wow, I feel so accomplished!

I hope you liked it. I don't really know if I want Ethan to be a friend or someone trying to go after Loria. I guess we will see.

In the next part (all tv show like)- Loria goes to detention. She finishes the rest of the school day with the frustrating Mr. Zavier boy. And maybe something else more exciting. I haven't written that far yet :P

Okay buh bye~
