Naomi wakes up with bandages covering her whole face... except her eyes and nostrils. She looks around in her room and finds her father sitting next to her.
“Hey honey, welcome back.” He starts to play with her hair, but she groans because of the pain. He stops. Naomi tries to talk to him, but her lips are covered.
“Naomi, I know you're probably wondering why your face is covered...” Just as he says that, a doctor comes in with small scissors.
“Hello Naomi! I'm glad you're awake. Its time for the bandages to come off.” He comes over and cuts one piece off. The rest of it fall off easily.
“W... Why did I have bandages on my face?” Naomi is still weak from the accident.
Her father looks at her sadly. “They had to replace your face because it was severely burned from the tires of the car...” He looks away when he looks at her. “You look totally different now...”
“What?!” She grabs the mirror that the doctor has and looks at her face. She looks like a totally different person. She screams. She never knew this could happen to her. She only thought it happened in “Bolt,” but there have been full face transplants before...
“I know it is a shocking sight, but we had to save you.” The doctor tries to reassure her. It isn't working one bit.
After another day in the hospital, Naomi returns home, her graduation scroll hanging on the wall.
“I took it when I found out you were hurt... I wanted you to graduate.” Her father goes up to the scroll. “You were still able to graduate even though... you know.” He rolls it up and hands it to Naomi in the way the principal hands it to them. Naomi starts to cry a little. She has wanted to graduate for a long time... and on that day, she missed her birthday. She was in a coma for 10 days, and all of her friends visited. At least that's what her dad told her...
When she got into her room, she looks at all of the presents her friends gave her. New clothes, makeup, text greeting cards, letters, photos, flowers... the list goes on and on. When she goes on Facebook, she decides to post a new photo of her, since she has a new face.
“OMG guys look at my face :* sexi”
She posts it, but...
Comments (105):
“OMFG who are you? How did you get Naomi's password?”
“Stop fooling around, where's Naomi?”
“Did you kill her? YOU MONSTER!”
Naomi tries to reassure them, but it doesn't work. Even after her father tries to explain the situation to all of her “friends,” they still don't believe she is Naomi. Her account gets deleted due to “impersonating a real person.” She knows her life will always be different...
