[001 | CHAPTER ONE : DREADFUL MORNING]

Waking up is supposed to peaceful or so I thought. But that option was already out the window since I have been living with Sydney for a good amount of time. That's when I got awaken out of my slumber by her yelling right near my ear. With her shouting so close to my ear that caused me to fall off of my cozy and snug bed then plummet to the floor.

Since my face was still pointed towards the ground my words came out muffled. So I had to get up from my laying position and pushing my hands up from like the rock hard floor, so I could stand up. Now that I was no longer practically face-planting the floor and standing in front of Sydney. Knowing that my hair was most likely sticking in many different ways that I could even imagine right now.

In front of me stood Sydney with a smug look on her face looking somewhat proud that she woke me up from sleeping. Giving her a harsh glare speaking soon after, "You didn't have to wake me up so damn early!" I grumbled and walking around her to leave my room to go get some food from the kitchen. Soon enough I heard her footsteps trail behind me since I left her all alone in my bedroom.

Entering our kitchen and walking over to one of the rusty brown cabinets that held all of our food. Opening up the cabinet with my free hand that didn't hold my phone. My brown eyes quickly skimmed over the variety of cereals that we bought for breakfast. Making up my mind on what I want to eat right at this moment.

The Lucky Charms box that was currently being held in my hand I set it down on the counter, so I could get the milk out of our steel black refrigerator. When I glanced over to Sydney I just saw her scrolling through her phone, probably Twitter since she is practically obsessed with that app.

Finally she spoke up but just briefly looking up from what is currently holding her attention, "By the way, we are going to go get some coffee." My eyebrows raised in confusion, because one; I was not aware of this and two; I actually hate coffee or any other caffeinated drink for that matter. "But, I look like shit." I complained and let out a weird-sounded groan, "Plus, I don't even like the coffee if you have forgotten." I continued on and reminded her of my disliking towards all types of drinks especially coffee and tea.

That's when she let out a scoff at my first statement which is slightly true. "You look fine and you have that thing today, so that's why we are going to the coffee shop right down the street." I still was sporting an confused expression which I have most of the time. My face immediately fell once I remembered what was happening today.

"Right..." I trailed off and she shot me a look that I was all too familiar with. Sydney continued to shake her head repeatedly in more ways than I could even count at this early in the morning. "You are not backing out of this opportunity just because you will see your ex-fiancé again." I stomped my feet like a five year old child and let more groans. Let's be honest here, even though I'm an full-blown adult I still feel and act like a child ninety-nine percent of the time.

With that she continued on, "I mean, what's the worst that can happen you guys fall back in love with each other once again." I sent her a heavy glare once she finally shut up when she did realize that could possibly be the worst and best thing that could happen. I cleared my throat rather loudly than I had intended and I put on my best fake smile, "How about we go to the coffee shop down the street just like how you wanted in the first place."

Muttering more to myself, "I definitely don't want to be talking about my love life, especially at nine am..." I was left alone now just waiting for her to get her shoes, keys, and everything else she needed before we actually get to leave. I started to walk near the couch where my shoes where they were just simply laying in the floor. Picking them up and quickly slipping them on my feet.

Few minutes later (which felt like forever) Sydney came out her room looking like she had everything, but I wasn't too sure yet. "Are you ready now or do I have to wait another lifetime for you?" I questioned her with a teasing grin that somehow made its way onto my face. She looked like she was going to reply with her usual witty remark but decided against to this time. She hummed in agreement meaning that we could finally leave. Sydney walked towards our front door and I followed in step with her.
