[000.5 | PROLOGUE : AGENT CALLS]

   I layed on the comfortable black couch bed in the living room of our apartment that I share with my best friend, Sydney Carter. The bright tv screen of One Tree Hill playing in front of me as I occasionally ate a few pieces of popcorn.

   I had to draw my attention from this show when I saw the front door open and walk in, Sydney. She slammed the door behind her maybe with a little bit too much force. "Did you hear the news?" She asked me I paused the show with the remote then got up from my laying position on the couch. I was now standing in front in her raising my eyebrows. I was about to answer her question when my cell phone started ringing behind me where it was still on the sofa. I held a finger up to her signaling that I would answer her once I got done with this call with that she stalked over to the kitchen probably to go get some food.

   Glancing down at my phone to see that it's my manager calling me. "Hey, what's up?" I greeted into the phone where it's pressed up against my ear. Waiting for him to speak up I started walking towards the kitchen to get something to drink. Once Sydney saw me in the kitchen she mouthed wondering who I was talking on the phone. Mouthing back that it's just my manager she nodded her head understanding.

   I heard him let out a sigh before responding, "I have some news for you don't know if you are going to like it or not." I bit my lip wondering what he was going on about taking. Going to refrigerator to get a cold bottle water. "I'm sure I'll like the news that you have to tell me," I assured him then asked him a question,"So what is it?" I opened up the bottle of water that I got from the fridge.

   "Do happen to know the show on The CW, The Originals?" He asked me carefully. Taking his question into thought my brain tried to rack something up that deals with that show. I shook my head but then realizing he couldn't see me. "I mean, I've heard of it but never actually watched it, and I know I auditioned for it like once." I said going over to Sydney to get a bite of her macaroni and cheese.

   Taking her fork that she was previously holding in her hand to get myself a bite of her food. Once she saw what I was doing I now had some of that food in my mouth that's when she slapped my hand away, rather hardly. Swallowing the macaroni and cheese that I had chewed and remembering that I still had my manager on the line. "Wait did you just say that I got the role?" I asked when I heard him say the last part of me being apart of that show now.

   "Yeah, you did they just called back right before I called you up to tell you the news." He said he was probably smiling so was I. We both knew that I needed a new project to work on and this was definitely going to be one of them. Registering his words through my head I responded back with excitement, "Oh my god that's great! Do you know what role I am playing?" I asked wanting to know every single detail of my new character that I will be playing soon.

   That's when he took a breath I'm guessing he didn't really wanna tell me this part, "This is the part that I didn't know how you'd exactly react to. Well...you are gonna be one of the characters love interest." He finally said my eyebrows scrunched in confused as to why he would think that I would freak out over that.

   Mind telling me who the character is or are you just going to leave it at that." I said half-sarcastic and half-serious. I looked to my left to see Sydney whispering to me, "Put it on speaker." I rolled my eyes at her comment but eventually did what she wanted me to do.

    He sighed once more speaking soon after "You are the love interest of Elijah Mikaelson and the actor who plays him is, Daniel Gillies." He quickly rushed out his next sentence, "You don't have to do it if you don't want to do it, I completely get it!" Shaking my head at the thought of me denying the offer just because of, Daniel. "No, it's fine text me all the info later, thanks." I said barely any emotion noticeable in my voice. I ended the call not bothering to get his reply.

    Leaving the kitchen without saying a word but Sydney trailer after me. Walking into the living I sat down on the couch again laying in my previous position before. "What are the chances that I'll get to see him again." I laughed but it didn't come off as light-heartedly at all. She sat down next to me running her finger through my hair it became somewhat calming to me. I looked at her sighing talking soon after, "Do you think he'll forgive me?" She looked confused as to what I meant so I continued. "I broke it off with him all because I felt like I wasn't ready yet. When I told him exactly that he looked so heartbroken. He told me he understood but I felt like I just gave him so much heartbreak just by saying those words."

   Katrina, he was hopelessly in love with you," Sydney said I nodded kind of understanding her words but she kept talking, "He probably still does wouldn't surprise me, but remember what he told you." We both let out a laugh at the first time but then I remembered what he told me that night.

   "He said that if we are meant to be together we would eventually find our way back to each other, and he understood why I did all of that." I said reminiscing his words that he said to me that night. She nodded her head again remembering also when I had told her what had happened that night exactly a year ago.

   "You guys probably haven't talked in a year or so but you guys had an mutual understanding." She assured me after that she looked up at the tv to see when I had paused the show I was watching before, "But how about we watch some One Tree Hill." Sydney suggested I let out a satisfied hum in response also that she gratefully changed the subject. I reached over to grab the remote to press play.

an author's note : I re-wrote this so many times because I couldn't properly figure out the way I wanted it to go. This is probably so shitty and I'm sorry about that since I wrote this all on my phone at two am. I have so much inspo for this story rn and I have a lot planned so I'm so excited to start this story.
