Yoongi giggled as the cold sea water touched the tip of his small toes.

Today was a beautiful day, much like all the other days this summer. The sky was a bright blue, reflecting against the calm ocean waters. The waves were calm and a salty smell filled the young boy's lungs as he gazed out over the rocks.

He could hear his father's servants calling for him back at the mansion. However, he stayed where he was.

It was too much of a lovely day to stay cooped up inside learning violin.

The ocean below him continued to lap at the rock he sat on. He resisted the urge to jump into the clear water. He had never learnt how to swim and there was no way he was going to risk it.

A gasp left his lips and his eyes widened before he gazed down into the water below him. The feeling of a hand suddenly wrapping around his thin ankle scared him.

In the water was a boy. The boy stared up at him, his eyes filled with curiosity.

"Hello...?" Yoongi hesitated. He had never seen this boy around the town. A glimmer alerted his gaze and his eyes shifted to where the boy's legs were supposed to be underneath the water. But, instead of legs, there was a shimmering tail. "A-Are you... Are you a mermaid?"

Yoongi made eye contact with the boy who still stayed silent. The young prince could only see the top half of the boy's face clearly as his nose and lips were underneath the surface of the water.

"Young prince! What are you doing?!"

The yell of one of the maids caused Yoongi to jump and he turned to see her running down the hill towards him.

He put his attention back on the boy in the water. His face was now above the water. He had a concerned look on his face and his grip on Yoongi's ankle tightened. It seemed as though he was silently telling Yoongi not to leave.

"I don't know who or what you are but... I promise I will come back tomorrow, okay? So wait for me."
