Yoongi's eyes widened and a gasp left his lips.

"H-Hey, Jinnie! Do you see that crab over there? It's so cute!" He exclaimed, desperately trying to shift the servants attention somewhere else. If his father found out there were mermaids nearby who knew what he would do to Jimin.

No matter how much Yoongi tried to grab Seokjin's attention the other wouldn't stop staring at Jimin.

"Y-you... You're a mermaid..."

Seokjin's eyes widened and he pulled Yoongi closer to his chest. He took a few steps back, his eyes never leaving the boy before him.

Yoongi's body began to shake. He knew what was coming. Seokjin was going to run back to Yoongi's father and tell him of the sighting of a mermaid. Then they were assembly guards and hunt down Jimin and his family.

"P-please... Jinnie, no. It's okay. Jimin is a friend. He is my friend. Don't tell father, please."

The servants eyes finally shifted from Jimin to the boy in his arms. Tears had began to form in his eyes, silently begging the older to not tell his father.

He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, being careful not to drop Yoongi and kept an eye on the merboy in front of him. This is not what he signed up to when he agreed to look after the young prince.

"Prince, I must get you back to the castle at once. Your father is worried sick."

Yoongi began to sob, clinging tightly onto the man's shirt. Seokjin let out another sigh and rocked the young boy. "Young Prince, if you don't be quiet then others will come to investigate and they'll see this here merboy. Now do you want that? Cause if you don't I suggest you stop crying this instant, okay?"

Yoongi stared up at his maid who gave him a small smile. He turned to the merboy and gave him a smile too. "Now I may I ask your name?"

"His name is Jimin." Yoongi answered when Jimin was too shy to reply. "He is helping me to swim!"

Seokjin chuckled and gently placed Yoongi down into the water near the shore, the small waves lapping at his knees. "You'll have to say goodbye to Jimin for now though, I promise I'll let you down again soon but you're fathers worried and we don't want any soldiers coming down here okay?"

He received a reluctant nod from the young boy. Yoongi smiled at Jimin before reaching his hand out to the boy. He reached his pinky out.

Jimin stared at him curiously before lightly touching the tip of Yoongi's pinky with his own. Yoongi laughed and hooked their pinky's together. "It's a promise, idiot. I'll come back to see you soon. We're best friends right?"

A wide smile spread across the merboy's face and he nodded. "Best friends!"

Seokjin lightly began to pull Yoongi away, the sun was already starting to set, the pinks and oranges lighting up the sky. The two young boys continued to wave at each other.

Jimin noted that the 'Seokjin' human was really nice and hoped that Yoongi would bring him alone again. Maybe he could be Jimin's friend too.

And even as Yoongi began to walk up the stairs away from the beach, Jimin continued to wave. His wave being directed at Yoongi 'other friend,' who had been standing behind a few rocks. Although Jimin didn't say anything at the time, he thought the other must have been shy.

The man didn't wave back as he stepped out from behind the rocks standing right in Jimin's vision. He stared at the young merboy for a couple of seconds before he proceeded to turn around and walk out of sight.

Jimin pouted as he received no reply from the other.

But he brushed it off and glided across the surface of the water and in no time swiftly swam back into the depths of the ocean.
