She stands in front of the mirror, staring at the unfamiliar human being that stands right in front of her eyes. Well aware that it's no one but herself she's looking at–but wishing that it could be anyone else. Never has she liked herself, not a single bit. Neither does anyone try and change her mind about herself, it's rather that everyone encourages her to feel this way about herself. She sighs as she puts her hands to her waist, thinking about how she wants to be skinny like all the other girls, longing to be skinny. Knowing that she's the ugliest person she knows. She's well aware that she'll never be as beautiful like all the other girls and she hates it. Gazing down at her whole body she feels an incredibly horrible feeling of anxiety. Many times has the thought about not eating anymore crossed her mind, since nothing else seems to work out nor is that tempting. Not eating seems easy, much more easy than the other alternatives. So why not? She thinks to herself and flip her head over to the side, even though she already knows the answer. She is too weak. Too much of a coward. She stops her thinking that's only making her more broken and walks away from the mirror. Not wanting to see what she utterly hates so much.

''Serenity honey, Blake is on the phone!'' her mother yells from the kitchen.

Blake never calls her cell phone which Serenity finds very weird, but since Blake is very special she doesn't mind. Walking out of the room into the kitchen only takes a few seconds since her mother lives in such a small apartment. Even though it's small, Serenity loves it. Three rooms if you don't count with the kitchen and the bathroom, which makes it the living room, Serenity's room and her mothers room. As she walks into the kitchen her mother walks by smiling at her, she smiles back and pick up the small phone that lays on the dining table.

''Hello'' Serenity is not much of a talker, she prefers silence and thinking. She has always done. Mostly because speaking your mind doesn't often make things better, if you don't know how to express in speaking, which she most certainly don't. The only person she really talks too is Blake, that she has known for almost her whole life.

''Hi, want to hang out later? Me and some friends are going to the movies and I wondered if you wanted to come?'' as much as Serenity wanted to decline the offer she knew that Blake would force her to come anyway so she just agreed, and as much as Blake knows Serenity doesn't like to talk she keeps talking for ten minutes before they hung up because Blake realizes that Serenity doesn't want to talk anymore. One of the reasons Serenity likes Blake, because she knows her so well and cares about her needs. What Serenity doesn't know by now is what still has to come. That a friend so close can be yet so far away, faster than you can even blink.

Serenity decides to wear something more dressed up than usual, even if she doesn't feel pretty the clothes is one of her finest pair of clothing and that makes her just a little more confident to go to the movies, with Blake and her friends. Blake's friends, who she doesn't know anyone of when she thinks about it. Putting on the pieces of fabrics, a black high skirt that starts at the waist and ends a little above her knees, to that she chooses a black cropped top, even if she thinks that it makes her look big. Just to hide the skin a little bit she chooses to put on a whine red knitted cardigan to it, she reviews the look in the mirror and nods her head deciding to wear this. She also adds a little make up to her face, since she always look so tired she needs make up to not look like a wreck. It kills her, she hates make up. The fact that Blake doesn't need any make up to look pretty but still uses it makes Serenity mad, but mostly jealous. Why can't I be as pretty as her? Is a question that Serenity frequently asks herself.

When she is done she walks out of her room into the living room where she caught her mother reading a book. What are you reading? Is probably what a normal person would ask but Serenity just walks over to the couch and sit down with her mother, thinking that there's nothing that's needed to be said. They're well aware of their relationship and that's enough. Her mother looks up from the book and smiles when she sees what her daughter has chosen to wear, Serenity just smiles back and look out of the window that is on the other side of the room. Waiting for the time to pass, since all she wants to do is to go to the movies so it'll be over and she can go home to bed. 5 pm, that's the time she should be at the movies, and the clock is only three, which makes it two hours of waiting. Serenity hates waiting. Watching TV will probably make the time go faster. She thinks and turn on the TV. Her mother doesn't say anything, even though Serenity is well aware of the irritation since the TV is bothering her reading, but she doesn't care. If you want to read, you can go somewhere else. Even though Serenity loves her mother sometimes she just can't stand her.
