Chapter 4

You woke up your hair in a complete mess you glance around the room realizing it was light out and everyone else was already outside. You get dressed quickly brushed your hair and bolted for the front door tripping every once in a while running to the practice area late. "Cadet (L/N)! You're late again!" Lavi growls glaring over at you. You roll your eyes and go to practice with Echo and Meldoy.

  You walk down to the stream near by and glance around making sure no one was near by before jumping in. To say the least today was hot, as if it wasn't bad enough you were tired from the extra chores you earned and laps they made you run. Swimming around in the nice and cool water was refreshing. But that of course was interrupted by none other than the king of jerks him self and Titan boy jumping in... Now this would be fine of course, if Eren and Jean hadn't toke the idea TO COMPLETELY DRENCH YOU! You sigh and grumble at the two boys. "Honestly, I thought you both would have respect for a lady and not soak her!" You glare gaining the boys attention.

  "(Y/N)! W-w-w-what are y-you doing out here?! And nearly..." Jean trails off.

  "Swimming." You roll your eyes.

  Eren just looks away embarrassed to all hell while Jean on the other hand...he was kinda being a creep a bit. "Hey (Y/N)!" You hear the two twins shout tuning and jumping in soaking you more, you glaring at them. That's when Jean moved over and lightly placed a hand on your shoulder, you of course pull your shoulder away in return but realize he has a sincere look I'm his eyes. "(Y/N)...? I want to ask you something..." He speaks quietly not usual for him. "If you're trying to ask me out its a no." You state crossing your arms and turning away.

"Well it's nothing like that! I was wondering why you joined and act so pissed off sometimes.." He looked into your eyes, you've never seen him like this before.

You look down quietly, you didn't know how to accurately explain it with out crying. "Well you see..."

Flash back~

It was a nice spring day, the sun was shining, bird were chirping. It was a nice day for any kid to be outside and not a single child was indoors. You were playing out with Echo and melody playing freeze tag with some of the other kids in the small town you lived in. You smiled and ran after Echo and Melody giggling, the three of you smiling like any kid would playing. Nothing felt off, until you heard a boom and many smaller booms falling after it. You could hear people screaming and running away from the source of the booming. That's when you look at what they were running from, a Titan had smashed through the wall others following it. You watch as they like all Titans begun picking up stragglers and on lookers they could reach. Before you even know what happening, Echo grabs your hand along with Melody as they run for the ferry a distance away. The screams could be heard up a head, turning back you watch as the place you called home was destroyed by the giant humanoid freaks you eyes wide in terror. Knowing your father was inside and hadn't escaped brought tears to your eyes as the house was destroyed. "NO!" You scream as Echo and Melody pulled you closer and closer to the ferry and people shoving and pushing past the three of you. "Cmon (Y/N!) I don't wanna die!" Melody cries out. That's when you snap into realty and know that you must give up on going back and get on the ferry. You spot a boy with two other kids. He had dark brown hair, bluish green eyes, and lightly tanned skin. The boy was a bit older than you but you know he's seen something the way he looked, he was so sad... You walk over to him with your two friends telling you to come back desperately. "Hello..." You mutter to him. He doesn't even both to acknowledge you, that is until he speaks. "Go the hell away kid!" You look down sadly as a girl places a hand on your shoulder. Looking over you look at the girl and a blonde haired boy next to her. She had black hair, grey eyes, and pale skin which seems to stick out with the scarf she wore. The blonde headed boy looked a bit frightened to his blue eyes looking at you worriedly. "Excuse Eren he... He saw his mother fall to one of them..." She looked down a bit saddened. You wonder how many kid on board had lost their parents, knowing you, Echo and Melody were among the parentless kids. You walk back to the two of your friends. "I here by swear I'll avenge everyone's loss here, even if it kills me!" You state boldly to the ship and your friends

End of flash back.

You wee in tears by now and he hugged you softly rubbing your back. You felt safe in his arms and slowly hugged him back, the others looking at the two of you. "It's alright... I'm here for you..." He mutters softly.
