What is that?
Ever see anything like it?
It's...the cybor- ahem... robot, I met weeks ago!
YOU MUST BE JOKING.
Voices rang through Shard's head. He couldn't see. Who was talking.... what do they want from me... Shard thought.
Finally Shard's red vision cleared. A boy and a girl were standing 3 feet above him. One was the girl he had seen weeks ago, Summer, and some other boy with brown hair...
"Oh, it's online," the boy said, noticing Shard's red eyes.
Shard dusted off his legs and got up slowly. His ear was popped out, and his screen had minor scratches. Once he got up, he wobbled for a moment. What's with the gravity here? Shard thought. "Who're you?" the boy asked, kneeling to Shard's height. Shard felt small...and it bothered him. "What?" Shard said weakly, looking down. "Ever see an AI before?"
"Well," the boy paused. "No."
"Well listen," Shard said, eyes orange. "Who are you, and where am I?" "Lost Islands," the boy replied. "It's lost for a reason."
Shard paused for a moment. "I think the teleporter glitched. I've never heard of this place, and, where in Mobius is this?"
The boy laughed a bit. "Mobius..?" he said. "I think you mean Earth."
Shard's eyes dimmed and widened. "E-Earth...?!" he squeaked. "Oh no... n... AAHH!"
Summer and the boy watched as Shard completely lose it, running in small circles. "MY F-FRIENDS!" Shard bellowed. "THEY'RE BACK IN MOBIUS AND... I.. I'M ON... AN ENTIRELY... D-DIFFERENT...PLANET..."
"An entirely different planet?" The boy asked. "Uncle Chuck's gonna be so mad when he finds out!" Shard whimpered. His eyes dimmed in fear as he looked up.
"Wait..." the boy said. "...a friendly robot...AH!" "What is it, Jakez?" Summer asked. "One of the Galaxial Destined that Cole told me about?!" "Galaxial what...?" Shard said, calming down slightly.
Shard stared for a moment. His eyes dimmed. "I have to get home....I have to return to Mobius."
"Well unless you have a built-in teleporter device, you're out of luck for now," Summer muttered. Shard's ears flattened. "So I'm stuck here?" he whimpered, eyes blue. "Well while you're here," Jakez said, "you should see the other parts of the island."
"I forgot to mention," Jakez exclaimed, "I'm Jakez."
Shard twisted his hand around for a moment, then turned his attention back to Jakez. "I'm Metal Sonic 2.5," he said.
"Well hi, Metal Sonic 2.5," Jakez joked. "Ngh...just call me Shard," Shard said, cringing. For some reason, Shard felt a cold shiver whenever he heard 'Metal Sonic.' Strangely, Shard felt a worry. His backstory...how would he keep his past from Jakez and Summer?...it'd just have to be explained later, when he gained for trust with them...
Summer lead Jakez and Shard around the island. Jakez knew every end of it, but Shard didn't even know where he was. He just wanted to go home. Had his friends found out he'd been gone? Were they now trying to teleport to him? Shard looked at his power core. It was green. He poked it lightly, and it heated up, turning red. Jakez suddenly noticed it. "Huh?" He said, looking at Shard's power core.
Shard looked back at it. "Oh, this thing?...don't tell anyone this, but, it's my power core. It contains my thoughts, emotions, memory, and power."
Shard's eyes flattened a bit on his screen. "Never tell anyone about my power core," he said, "if anyone bad heard, they could use it against me."
They both followed Summer deeper into the forest. As Shard walked, he noticed a tree stump. "Like the one back in Mobius..." he said to himself.
After Summer showed them around, Shard started to look downed. Jakez looked at Shard. Shard's ears were bent back, and his eyes were blue. "My friends back in Mobius are probably worried..."
Suddenly, while Shard muttered to himself, his power core flashed. He jerked a bit, and made a whirring noise. "What the hell was that about?" Summer asked, questioning Shard's random glitch. Shard's eyes turned normal. "A virus..." he said, sounding bothered.
"You're a robot, don't you know how to fix it?" Jakez asked, confused. "I may be a robot, but I'm kinda lacking the 'I' in AI..."
"AI means Artificial Intelligence," Jakez said. "You sure you're lacking the intelligence? I doubt that..."
"I don't," Summer joked.
Shard looked at them both. "It's the freaking virus that's messing with my personality code," he muttered. "I'm much different than this, believe me."
"Cole explained to me that you're one of the Galaxial Destinies," Jakez said, "Summer and I, too."
"M-me?" Shard squeaked, "I'm not a hero, I'm a simple Robian, not that much."
"Well Cole said it, not me," Jakez replied.
"But Jakez," Shard said, "what about my friends? They must be worried..."
"They'll find a way to find you, maybe," Jakez said, "but I don't think you'll be able to get back as easily."
"Ohhh, this is horrible," Shard complained, "ohhhh, I'm lost!"
"Ahemm..Lost Islands," Summer replied.
Shard took a look around. "I need to get fixed up," he said, pushing his left ear back into place.
"Let's...get..going."
