*Dean's Side*
Before school started"Sammy come on we gotta get ready before dad wakes up" Dean was pestering his little brother who was taking a long time getting ready for school. "I'm sorry Dean it's my fault, I woke up late, he's going to get mad I'm sorry I'm sorry" Sammy started tearing up but dean grabbed his brother and quickly helped him get ready. "It's gonna be okay Sammy we'll just skip breakfast. I got some already made for you but I'll give it to dad. I'm sorry I know you're hungry. But it's all I have made." Dean set up the food and got Sam outside for the bus. It was his first day at middle school so he was nervous but Dean kept telling him he was gonna be fine.
When Dean arrived at Lawrence highschool he knew he would have to make up stories for the bruises on his arms. His dad, John, came home drunk again and Dean wasn't done with his summer homework which made John mad. Sammy woke up in the middle of the night to find his brother crying in the corner of the room they shared holding onto his arms. "Dean what happened?" Sam said concerned. Dean sniffed and wiped his tears getting back into his bed. "Don't worry about it just go to sleep" Dean turned facing the opposite direction of his brother and tried not to cry again. Sam was tempted to call Bobby but he figured Bobby wouldn't even be up this late. So he just went to bed trying not to cry himself because he was worried for his brother.
Dean wiped the memory of last night from his mind and saw a familiar face walking towards him. "Hey Charles!" Dean said meeting up with the red-headed girl who was smiling bright. "Hey Dean! Ready for your first day of Junior year?" Charlie's smile left her face as she saw the sadness in Dean's eyes "what's wrong? Did something happen to Sam?" She looked down at Dean's arms and realized. "What happened Dean? And don't try and blame it on some bike or skateboard. Those look like punches." She examined Deans arm and looked up at him with a concerned look. "Tell me who did this. Now." Charlie put on her mom face and looked Dean dead in the eye. "I-" before Dean could finish he heard a familiar older voice yell. "Cas you're going in come on!" They both looked over to see a boy around their age getting dragged by one of the most popular kids in school. "Who's the new kid?" Dean asked trying to get a good look at him. "I don't know." Charlie looked back at Dean "don't try to change the subject. Who did this?" Before she could argue with dean the bell rang "we talk about this at lunch. Got it?" Dean didn't answer he just walked inside.
"Hello everyone I'm Mr. Turner. Because we have new classrooms I'm going to give you a tour of our school again. I know you got one last year but we like to make sure you know your way around. Group A goes with Mrs. Barnes. Group B comes with me." There were a couple of dirty minds who laughed at the last part making Mr. Turner give a disspointed look. "Come on everyone you know what groups you're in let's go." Mrs. Barnes led her group in the opposite direction as Mr. Turner. Dean was in group B along with Charlie. "Maybe we'll see the new kid with Gabriel" Dean said adding the 'with Gabriel part' trying to make it seem like he just wanted to see the popular kid. "Why are you so caught up on this new kid?" Charlie knew when her best friend was hiding something and she knew this wasn't just about Gabriel. "I'm not! I don't even know the kid! I just wanna see Gabriel. Ya know, get on his good side, become popular, get all the babes..... Yeah." Dean tried hiding the blush appearing on his cheeks. "Mhm. Sure. Keep telling yourself that." Charlie glared at him and the line started moving again.
Dean kept seeing the new kid over and over. For some reason he wasn't in a group but he was just with Gabriel. That made Dean even more eager to get to know him. There was one time where they got so close they could touch. Dean smiled at the blue-eyed boy but the boy just ran towards Gabriel.
It was lunch time and Dean didn't want to face Charlie because he knew the questions coming his way. He kept looking for the boy but no sign of him. He sat down at his normal table and kept looking around. Charlie soon sat next to him looking where he was. "What ya looking at?" She said trying to see. "Huh? Oh nothing. Just.... Looking for someone." He kept looking when he saw the boy he's been so interested in, even if he doesn't know why. "That boy!" Dean smiled bright a small blush forming on his cheeks. "Who?" Charlie said looking around trying to see over the kids sitting around them. The boy got closer and Dean pointed right at him "him!"
Charlie looked up and waved to the blue-eyed kid. He looked frightened. "What's wrong with him?" Charlie asked and looked back at Dean who was still staring at the boy. She looked back to the boy to see him staring at Dean still scared. Then he ran. Food tray in his hand he ran out. A teacher saw him but checked her board and went back to her normal duties. "Hey! Teacher!" Dean shouted getting the attention of the woman who would much rather be having lunch with the other teachers. "What is it?" She asked in an annoyed tone. "Can I go uh. Find uhm. My friend?" Dean tried to make up an excuse to find that boy. He didn't know why those blue eyes intrigued him so much. "The one who just ran out?" She asked tapping her foot impatiently. "Yeah uh him. He told me to meet up with him but he didn't tell me he would leave." The whole time Dean tried to convince the teacher, Charlie was sitting there with this confused look on her face.
Somehow, with enough talking and making up stories, dean got permission to find the boy. She told him that the blue-eyed kid would be in the library, where he will be eating lunch until he is comfortable. When the teacher walked away Dean stood up and smirked at Charlie. "I'll see ya later" and with that he was on his way to the library. Some of it was because he wanted to get out of telling Charlie about his arms, but the big reason was he really wanted to get to know the "blue-eyed wonder" as he called him.
He arrived at the library with his food tray and walked up to the librarian. "Hey I'm looking for my friend. Blue eyes, blackish hair, might look a little on edge." He whispered motioning to each body feature as he said it.
The librarian pointed to the back of the library where the tables were. "He should be back there listening to music." Dean quietly said thank you and made his way through the library going past people studying for tests. He saw the boy sitting listening to music not really eating much. Dean sat down across the table from him and let out a little "hi." The boy didn't say anything so everything was just awkward. "Uhm. I'm Dean." Dean tried to keep talking but he saw the blue-eyed boys hands shaking. "I'm sorry I should have asked if it was okay to sit here. Uhm. Do you need me to get anyone?" Dean started standing up but he heard a little voice. "I-i-its okay..." Dean sat back down slowly, not taking his eyes off the boy.
Let me know what you think of this so far!
