Enemies? BFF'S? Frenemies ?

Why Me ?

Priyanka Hegde sat with her friend Shanaya Rajj in the auditorium waiting for instructions.

The both of them were off to an interschool art contest the following day. That meant missing one day of school.

Priyanka was looking around to see who else got to bunk school the next day. She was not surprised to see so many of her friends there. But she couldn't spot any of her gals. She kept glancing at the door waiting for one of the 4 - Ankita, Rishima, Nishita or Harsha -to walk into the auditorium.
Just as she decided to give up hoping for one of her gals to tag along, she saw someone walk in .

Priyanka's POV

Ugh ! Why is he here ?? Just as I turn to say " What the hell is Aarav Sharma doing here ?!". I could see Shanaya turning to do the same. As realisation struck us we burst out laughing.

A deep voice brought us back to reality. "Is anyone coming here" said Aarav, Indicating the seat that I had "saved " for one of my gals.

Shanaya being as mean as she is replies politely that the seat wasn't taken. She bursts into laughter looking at my expression.I must have had smoke coming out my ears and my face red hot for her to laugh that bad.

Ugh ! How irritating can she get? But what will my friends say if they find out I was sitting next to Aarav?

Priyanka, calm down ur just sitting next to him . You're not having a conversation with him. I say to myself closely observing him.

Aarav turns suddenly to me in the midst of my intense observation and asks coolly " How's life Priyanka?"

Wait ! Was he talking to me ?? Why oh why ?? Priyanka remain calm. He's just another human being .

" Why do u want to know ?"

"I was just asking. " says a little perplexed Arav.

"Ugh !" What the hell happened to the I -don't-care- mood Aarav has always?

"Oh jeez. It's called small talk. I have no interest in knowing what's happening in yor life." Said Aarav coming back to his normal self.

Oh god! I have to go through this for another hour! At least I dont have to bear with him tomorrow. Or will I have to ? I better not jinx it.

"Earth to Priyanka. Hullo ?" Says Shanaya waving her hands frantically in front of my face.

"Sorry. I get transported to another world when I have -"

"Yeah ! When you've got something on your mind. I know!" Shanaya was practically screaming right now.

I could see Aarav smirking from the corner of my eyes.

Just as I thought the day couldn't get any worse. The teacher announced " Group #3 consists of Priyanka Hegde, Shanaya Rajj, Shreyas Utmal, Dev Samantha and Aarav Sharma."

My eyeballs were literally on the floor rolling aorund. Everybody in that group was cool. Everybody except Aarav !

Why Aarav ? Why OUR group ? What will my friends say ? Why me ?
