Chapter 4: Atlanta's Trial

Court Of Justice, Atlantis: August 19th, 2013: 5:00 PM

Atlanta stood there in the middle of the podium/Platform which was in the middle of the grand pit that was where prisoners and or accused would held during trial in this place that was called the court of justice.

Looking at it now, it reminded her of the surface world's coliseum in Rome.

The grand podium in front of where she stood where the council were, the circle of Atlanteans in the stands overlooking her, jeering her...the only thing missing was the gladiators and lions, which Atlanta would have preferred over this.

Justin had better know what he was doing.

The doors to the Hall of Justice opened behind her, and everyone including Atlanta turned to see who was entering.

Atlanta gave a sigh of relief when she saw Justin walk in with the Heroes Legion, glad that they had been near the mansion where the Maelstrom portal would find them.

She had to admit she was surprised that Stephanie walker was here, but she figured that since she had told Justin that she trusted the legion, and that she had been taken here with them by proxy that she had been identified by Justin as someone who was part of the team.

In a way that was true and besides, she knew she could be trusted with the secret of the City of Atlantis.

As the legion entered the Court, the Atlanteans all murmured in amazement and concern at the presence of these strange outsiders who had been brought here.

Velocity was the first to see Atlanta down there in the platform overhanging the large pit beneath her.

"Atlanta!" he shouted.

Atlanta couldn't help but notice the relived look on his face, why was he relieved to see her?

Was he worried about her?

Had he been worrying about her this whole time?

And why was he staring at her like that....oh right, Atlanta realized that none of them, Velocity included, had never seen her in her flesh and blood form.

Which explained why everyone on the team but M-Leader was looking at her with surprise.

"Shhh, Velocity!" Justin snapped, "Don't speak to her, not until it's your time to speak"

"Where do we go for this Trial as character witnesses" M-Leader asked Justin.

"I'll show you later, right now I need to introduce you all to the council" Justin answered, "now please all of you. Don't speak unless asked by the Council, or when you asked to approach the bench"

"Hey come on man, what kind of crap is this that we can't speak before the trial starts?" Velocity said in disbelief.

Shadow Knight waved his hand, and a shadowy bind/gag wrapped around Velocity's mouth.

"Velocity..." Shadow Knight scowled, "don't let your impulsiveness get in the way. We're not up on the surface, we're not even in the U.S.A anymore. This is a sovereign and foreign nation. We need to play along with how this place works if we want to have a chance to help Atlanta...clear?"

"Crystal" Velocity said with a muffled sound through the shadow gag which Shadow Knight hastily removed.

"You do that again and it's your ass!" Velocity warned, "A simple explanation without a shadow gag would have been just fine!"

"I'm shaking in my Trench coat..." Shadow Knight said sarcastically.

Justin approached the Grand Council, "Your honors, I have brought Atlanta's character witnesses as summoned"
