"So, what do you think." Wendy said as she held two dresses. One was a long sleeveless black dress that had silvery embroidery on the bust area. As she saw me admiring it she lifted it higher only for me to realise that it had a slit that looked way above the knee.
"You like." She smiled as she pushed the dress into my hands. "No please," I muttered as I shoved the dress back into her arms. "It's not my style." I muttered as I stared at the second one. It was a dark blue knee-length dress with a golden belt.
"Why are we buying all these dresses again?" I asked Wendy as I wore back my grey T-shirt with my favourite band sprawled on it--paramore--and faded blue skinnies.
"Well the town always hosts balls on every full moon and you can't obviously go dressed in that, so you have to look fancy." Wendy ended as I sat on the changing rooms bench to zip up my boots.
"That's very weird."I muttered.
"What is?" Wendy said as she took all the clothes she picked including the ones I refused to even try on. We reached the cashier and paid for the dresses.
"That a town called cresent hosts balls on full moons." I scoffed at the statement I made as I took the bags.
"Huh, I guess I never saw it that way." Wendy said as we walked out of the store.  That's when I felt it. The hairs at the nape of my neck stood on end.
I scanned the crowd in the mall. I felt someone watching me. I felt something bad was going to happen.
" We-- keep walking she said as she helped with some of the bags I was holding.
"What is happening?" I whispered as I tried to keep up.
"The coven." was all she could say before a shadow loomed over our path. The bags fell from her hand.
"Wendy." The person to whom the shadow belonged spoke as she stared directly at Wendy.
"I hope your travels were successful."
The woman said. She looked to be in her late thirties. She was very lean and talk with her red hair scraped into a bun.
"Yes Mistress." It took me a while to recognize Wendy's voice. All the chirppiness was gone from her voice.
She had the same icy tone the woman spoke with.
"Ah, this must be Adam's daughter." The woman said without sparing me a glance
"Yes Mistress," Wendy said.
"You should bring her to next week's gala. She should meet the girls."
"Yes Mistress." Wendy replied.
"I trust Isabel has informed you about the rites of passage." The woman said.
"Yes Mistress."
"Good day" she said to Wendy as she walked away.
"What was that about?" I asked Wendy as I helped her pick up the bags that fell from her hand.
"It was nothing." She muttered as she started walking to the exit.
The trip back to the house was silent.
Seems like whoever that woman was really scared the crap out of Wendy.

When we got home, Wendy finally asked me if I needed help in packing my things. I shook my head and picked up my things to the room.
"Don't forget you have school tomorrow." Aunt Isabel reminded me as she literally appeared out of nowhere giving me a slight hear attack.
" Yes" I replied as she passed by me to her room.
"Gwennevier," I heard her say my name.
"Yes aunt Isabel."  I answered as I opened my room door.
"I'm glad you chose to live with us." She said as she turned to walk towards her room.

I placed the bags at the foot of my bed and closed the door. I sat on my bed and laid back and everything went dark.
