Via

My eyelids slid open.

Which, actually, confused me alot. Was I dead? Was this heaven? Hell? Or nowhere?

The first thing to come into my field of vision was two pairs of legs.

Very, black, skinny slender like legs.

Using my weak arms, I have myself sit up on the plush surface. I look down at the galaxy sheets. This was my bed.

"VIa?"

I look up and a piercing stinging headahce enters my head. I hold it and my eyes adjust to the dark room and see a face. Or... no face.

"Hi, Dad."

He smirks and sits next to me after handing me some pills. "Take them. They'll hopefully help."

Without question, i dump the pills down my throat. I rest my head on my pillow, roll onto my back, and rest my folded hands on my stomach.

"How'd you save us?"

"I don't think that's important-"

He got cut off by the door slamming open. "Via?" The brown eyed male says, eyeing me.

I lift my hand to wave at Jude. I'm not in the mood for anything right now. It's about 4AM and I want to do something worth it tomorrow. "C'mere."

He comes over and sits on my bed and then laying down slowly next to me.

I look up at my Dad and see he is gone. Sucks, cause I didn't get to thank him.

Jude looks at me in the dark room, moonlight reflecting on his glistening eyes. I remember how I couldn't see them before, I guess they opened up after a while.

We stayed silent for about 15 minutes, the wind gliding through the window, the moist rainy smell of night flooding in and the crickets giving us music.

I look over to say something, but his shining eyes are closed. His breath slides out his mouth and he seems to be in the best sleep possible.

I sigh, and close my eyes, watching the stars twinkle in the darkness.

                                          ***

"Bye Dad! I'll see you tonight!"

"Wait, Via, when is 'tonight'?"

"Tonight!"

"What does that mean?!"

"You don't have to be worried, Dad! I have Ashlyn and Jude with me!"

I grin at him and zip out the door, Jude and Ashlyn trailing behind. We hop into Judes converatble, and I check my watch as I slide into the passenger seat. 9:20. Perfect.

We listen to music and we head to the... oh I forgot. We were all over the place today, no plan. The most I remember was the night.

We were next to a lake, which was at the bottom of the smallest hill. We were in the clearing of the field, and we were in more grass that field. We sat around a campfire, and the blaze gave us the warmth but sort of scared me since the incident.

I look over the field at the silhouette the trees make over the magenta sunset. I smile and look up at the stars starting to sprinkle across the empty sky.

"Guys..?" Ashlyn stutters.

We both turn our heads to her.

"R-remember Ryan...?"

Jude nods, but I don't say a thing.

"We... we saw each other at school yesterday, and he just transferred..."

Jude starts laughing for some reason. "If he turns out an insane demon, then we'll give you some tips!"

Ashlyn raises her knuckle and giggles behind it as I half smile. "Ok, Via, I'll give you permission."

She cocks an eyebrow at me. 'I don't need permission, mom."

Jude is wheezing now, so I toss a small rock at him and he only catches it perfectly.

We all shut up, and when we look at the sky, we see the sun has almost disappeared completely.

I start to recreate the adventure in my mind. Was beating Miranda at Vlend's game really worth it? Would I take it back if I could?

....No.

That was one of the best times of my life. Jude and Ashlyn both created it.

Is this the end of it?

I look at Judes shimmering eyes, and he glances at me and then back at the sky. I could see he wasn't done. He knew something was coming.

Ashlyns green ones didn't surprise me. I knew her eyes felt trapped and she needed to see more of this... interesting world. 'Ryan,' just wasn't enough. She wanted a story.

Is this the end?

I look up at the sky.

I won't let it be.
