22nd March. The day of the Demolition. Tears sprung into my eyes as I thought about it. The though of Forest came up too. I hadn't seen him since our first metting at Adam Acres but somehow I knew that I was going to start seeing a lot of him. When I talked to him, it somehow felt right. Like he and I were meant to be friends. I know that that sounds like the epitemy of a cliche line but it just felt the way it did.

I hadn't gone to the woods in weeks and I refused to because it only made me more upset. I wasn't just going to stand back and let them tear it down though. It was my second home. Forest's too.

I dressed up in my usual attire and prepared myself for the loud screams that would be coming from the kitchen. My mom would probably be pissed at the fact that I hadn't woken up as early as she expected me too. Which is kind of wronf considering I was up from six o'clock in the morning thinking about what I was going to do to stop them from cutting down the tree's at Adam Acres.

I slowly tip-toed down the staircase, hoping for no creaks in the floorboards. The house was practically a century old so a lot of prayers were in order. Instead of being greeted by the warm smell of breakfast and the most likely death screams from my mother, I came to find silence. I wondered where my mum was but finally realised that the whole point of the 'sneak-down-the-stairs' plan was to avoid her.

Taking the advantage of the situation, I scrambled out of the door faster than I ever thought possible. I ran wuickly down the familiar streets, taking a shorter route to get to Adam Acres. I couldn't waste any time. I stopped suddenly in my tracks, noticing a big yellow bull-dozer right in front of one of the tree's and it looked like it was about to knock it down. I ran as fast as my feet could take me and as soon as I knew it, I was standing right in front of the literal death machine with my arms spread out widely, indicating to them to stop. The amchine jolted to a stop and a rather large with bulky shoulders and a scrunched up face struggled to jump out of the car because of the probable fact that he was too big. I gulped at the sight of him and immediately regretted my decision and thought about how I could've just stopped them by having a sensible conversation with them to settle the issue. Although I knew that that would've never worked, it sounded more better to do than my initial plan.

"What do you think you're doing lil' missy?" He asked with a thick okie accent.

"Um, "I mumbled, trailing off, thinking of what exactly to say. "Um, you can't cut this tree down." I pointed to it.

"Why not?" He asked, totally oblivious to the fact that I was nervous.

"Because I don't want you too?" I said in a form of a question being unsure of my answer.

"Okay then, we won't." He said simply and my spirit lifted.

"Really?" I asked, excitement prominent in my voice.

"Sure little girl! We'll just cut down that tree." He said, pointing towards the tree situated right next to the one that I was standing in front off.

My heart dropped and a large frown sunk on my face. I ran as fast as I could over the tree that he was pointing to. "You can't cut this one down either!" I said, panting heavily.

"Jeez, what now?" He asked, clearly irritated.

"Please, just don't cut down these trees." I said in a low voice but it could be heard.

"I have orders kid and quite frankly they're not from you so I don't have to listen to your petty excuses." He said. "Get out of the way." He propped himself back into the bulldozer and started the engine up again. I couldn't believe what was happening so instead of doing anything, I just stood there with my arms spread out wide and my eyes shut closed. I thought of all the times when I cam eto the woods, happy and all. I was only a little kid back then but I already knew that the place would be of sentimental value to me one day. I prepared myself for the sound of my bones crushing under the large machine but instead I was greeted by a very familiar voice.
