'Crackle.'
'Crackle..'
'Crackle...'
That's the only sound that emitted from the small library within Masyaf as the worn pages of a book turned every few minutes. A young assassin sat in front of a window as his (E/c) eyes scanned the pages that were lit up by the moon and its deep blue colors. The boy (teenager, young adult) wondered how the story ends. "Hey, (Y/n)!" The boys head shot up and a smile appeared almost instantly at the voice of his brother. "Victor, I thought you were out training." "I was, but I'm done for now. Why are you in the library?" He asked. "You know I like reading... Plus I'm not as strong as you so there's no reason for me to be out there training with the master assassins when I'm only a novice." I replied, slight resentment in my tone. "Suit yourself, but you do know Al Mualim will be sending someone to train you eventually, and when that happens it won't be pretty."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because, I was like you when I was a teenager. I always read these worn books, scanned the pages of half the scrolls, never working to get stronger. Then one day Al Mualim sent someone to train me and well, I'll just say it was tough."
"I see..." I sighed. "I'll train a bit tomorrow, it's to late now to do anything other than bump heads in the dark." The (H/c) said.
"Alright, but remember your words." His brother said, then patted the younger's shoulder before walking off to somewhere he wouldn't know. The boy sighed and closed his book after marking his spot then placing it gently in his satchel. "I guess Victor's right.. I should get out and train tomorrow." He mumbled to himself, heading off to his room.
