"Wake up Rosalinda. Wake up." I woke to the sound of someone whispering and shaking me. I opened my eyes and seen he curly haired boy from the other day. He looked relieved when he saw me wake up. As I continued to look around the room I noticed I was in a hospital room. There was a huge window on the left wall and an IV connected to my arm. The bed was in the middle of the room with a TV hanging on the wall in front. Overall it was a pretty decent room.
"Rosalinda, are you okay?" I froze. I just realized what he was calling me. I started to shake my head frantically. "No your not okay?" He looked at me confused. I shook my head again.
"I don't understand what you mean." He sighed. I threw my hands in he air and then thought of something. I pretended to write on my hand.
"You want me to get you a pen and a paper?" He asked smiling. I nodded my head quickly with a huge smile.
"Alright one second," he ran out the room and came back a few minutes later with a small whiteboard and a dry erase marker. "This is all they had," he smiled apologetically and handed them to me. I shrugged my shoulders and began writing with my tongue peeking out the corner of my mouth. When I finished I turned it around and pointed to what I had wrote.
"My names not Rosalinda, it's Courtney," He read a loud, narrowing his eyes. "Oh. I just assumed because thats what that man who was holding you called you." I quickly started writing as an important question came to mind. I showed him what I had written.
"What happened to him?" He read. He looked at me witha face of sympathy and sadness, "He got away, and he killed one of the police officers. I'm sorry." I gasped and a tear fell from my eye. He was still out there. He could come back and get me at any moment. He knew me from my old life. How was that possible? What if he was the one who had murdered my parents? All these questions were rushing through my mind. Then I realized that they boy was still there. The boy whose name I still didn't know.
I began to write on the whiteboard again, this time askingmwhat his name was. I turned around to face the window, because I had heard something that sounded like the clicking of a camera. By the time I had turned around the boy was gone, leaving me alone in the quiet and eerie hospital room.

Three days later I was allowed to go home. My roomate had come to pick me up from the hospital. She kept on asking questions but of course I didn't answer any. I was in deep thought. All I wanted to know was if this guy was going to come back and kill me.
"You know he's my boyfriend now." Brianna said keeping her eyes on the road. Instantly I thought of the man who had grabbed me.
I stared at her with wide eyes and gestured as if to say what.
"The guy who was at our apartment the other day, Chris. He made it official. Oh and he says he'd love to get to know his girlfriends best friend better."
I groaned and turned to look out the window.
"Come on Court. He's trying and I expect you to try as well." I knew that if I didn't agree I would never here the end of it so I looked at her and nodded with a smile. "Yay! Thank you so much! Oh! I almost forgot, someone asked me to give you this. They asked me not to read it so I was thinking you could just write me a summary of what it says." She grabbed a folded up piece of paper out of her sweater pocket and handed it to me.
I opened up the letter:
Dear Rosalinda,
I know that its you. I've traced you here. I can't believe you would run away from me. What have I ever done to you? Well, besides that one thing. You answer to me now. I am in charge of this game. I lost you and now that I've found you I'm not going to let you slip away. You're crazy if you think I'm going to just give up. If you cooperate, no one gets hurt. You're parents refused to cooperate and you see what happened to them. I couldn't hurt you directly my love. So if you don't follow my rules I'll just have to go after someone else. How about that roomate of yours? She seems pretty disposable.
Rule number 1: You will have no relationships beyond friends or family with anyone. If I find out you have one, and I will find out, I will hunt them down and tear them apart limb by limb.
Rule number 2: You will not leave the city.
Rule number 3: You will leave your bedroom window unlocked at night in case I need to check up on you.
Rule number 4: You will not tell anyone about this letter or I will destroy everyone you've ever come in contact with.
I know you'll be a good girl and do what I say. Oh and one more thing, start talking already. Cause if you don't, I'll make you.
