The Lonely Abyss

Alone he lays motionless,

With none for his comfort.

Many days it's all careless,

with no sight of effort.

In the eyes of the public,

Still sits the falling feeling.

It'd be quite a trick,

For that to go reeling.

With each day,

He continues to sink.

A lovely lady across the way,

He yearns for just one wink.

As he had known,

He was ignored.

This feeling has grown,

Wanting to continue nevermore.

Love is all he dreams,

Wishing to have one taste.

This want destroys his esteem,

As the effort is just a waste.

Wandering aimlessly,

It's bittersweet bliss.

Falling drastically,

Into the lonely abyss.
