"Cianus," Kal spat out with disgust, "you're not welcome here." He knew he wanted to mess with Reid, and Kal couldn't allow that.
"Hmm," Cianus put a finger to his chin, and moved so fast that he was suddenly nose-to-nose with Reid, observing him. "He's quite a looker, huh? You really snatched a good one, Kal. When do you plan on ripping his vital organs out?" Cianus smirked as he let the last sentence out.
Reid trembled in fear, but he tried to keep a brave face.
"Kal... Wouldn't do that to me, right?" Reid whispered, as Kal shoved Cianus away from Reid and held a protective stance in front of him.
"Lay a finger on him, and I won't hesitate to rip your fucking throat out."
"Oh ho, ouch. Is he your boyfriend or something? Sure sounds like it brother, didn't know you rolled that way." It was pretty obvious that Cianus was trying to piss Kal off, and it was working.
Both Kal and Reid turned a deep scarlet, and Kal finally managed to get out, "Y-you know that I'm straight. Why are you here?"
"Oh, I can't spend some good 'ol quality time with my little bro? Actually, I just was here to warn you. Dad's pissed. And you know what he's like when he's pissed. Not only that, but why do you get to go to Earth and I don't? Plus, I'm more human than you, so I'm just gonna chill here for a bit, if you don't mind."
Kal took a deep breath. "Look, you're my brother and everything and I love you but..." Kal froze. How would Dad have found out that he escaped hell? I mean, he obviously would've noticed his absence, but...
"You told him," Kal growled. "You fucking told him, didn't you?"
"Hmm, you're a smart one, aren't you? Ding ding ding! Took you long enough," He smiled with a sadistic glow.
"I want you to leave Earth right now, and I want you to leave me and Reid alone."
"Oh, so Reid's the name? What hybrid is he? His eyes look different as well."
Even though Cianus was more human than Kal, he had an unsettling aura that made Reid shiver.
"He's not gonna tell you shit, Cianus," Kal growled.
"Hmm, since he won't tell me anything, why don't I tell him some fun facts? Did you know that Kal has tortured, murdered, and even eaten hundreds of innocent people? Still a fan of him?"
"SHUT UP!" Kal yelled and attempted to lunge at him, but Reid managed to hold him back, hands wrapped around his torso, pulling him.
"No, Kal. No, please don't, it's not worth it!" Reid cried out.
"You're right... He's not worth my time at all." Kal glared at a chuckling Cianus.
"Well, I'll take that as my cue to move along then! And Reid, have fun when the curse rises! Toodles!" He then snapped his fingers and a puff of smoke surrounded them, and he was gone.
"Damn him..." Kal squeezed his eyes shut and clenched his fists.
"Kal," Reid said this, trembling in fear. "D-did you... Did you really..." He couldn't say it. He wanted to run far away from him. He couldn't bear to look him in the eyes. On top of being outside and this, he couldn't handle it.
"Reid, I... It's not what you think..."
"You killed innocent people? Did you enjoy it?"
"Of course not, why would I-"
Reid then turned around and attempted to dash home. Kal saw this coming and grabbed his arm, gripping painfully tight, and pulled him over to face him, nose to nose.
With his other hand, Kal pulled his bangs back to expose his demon eye. It was glowing a faint red in the daylight.
"Do you see this?" Kal stared at Reid with both of his eyes.
"Y-yeah..."
"Do you know this means? It's the eye of a monster. A fucking sadistic, cold-blooded killer. You signed up for this the moment you found out I was a demon. So why did you stay?"
"L-let me go... I thought you were different and cared about me, but I think I'm just another one of your victims. If you're gonna kill me, JUST DO IT ALREADY!"
"That's not what I meant. I never had any intentions of hurting you, and I never will. What my brother said is true, but... I never enjoyed it, I've always wanted to live normally... I just have an urge to... Protect you. I want to protect you, no matter what. So please, don't..." Kal's eyes watered up, and he sniffed. "P-please don't leave me like everyone else," he said, with his voice cracking.
"I didn't mean to... Oh, Kal." Kal released him and Reid stroked Kal's hair, as he sobbed.
This man that he hasn't even known for very long was crumbling in front of him at the very thought of being abandoned. How does he trust Reid so much? Or does he even trust him in the first place, and he just needs someone to fill some void? Either way, he couldn't leave him like this. Reid... trusted him. He hoped he made the right choice of staying with him.
"I'll... I'll stay, Kal. Don't cry, please."
"O-okay," he hiccuped. "Thank you, Reid. You're the first human that's accepted me, you know? You didnt freak out when you first saw my eye. You were intrigued, that's another reason why I think you're different from the others... So, thank you."
Kal didn't seem like the type to thank people, he's changed in such a short period of time. He was changed from being a confident daredevil to a sensitive teddy bear.
It was kind of cute, actually.
