Chapter 8: Darkness

I felt a large amount of pain in my right side, I grabbed it and winced. I fell to the ground and watched as innocent pass byers ran in fear. Looked up at the man I was fighting and he began shooting the customers. I could hear Ryan and Izzy calling out to me attempting to get through the crowds. I just sat there and watched as innocent people dropped to the ground bleeding. "I c-can't h-help you." I whispered reaching out to a girl who hit the ground close to me. She looked at me and stared, worry and sadness could be seen in her eyes as her friends ran away.

I grabbed her hand "we will be in this together." I mumble as she nodded. "I-I'm Samy." I winced grabbing my side once again. She looked at me tears forming in her eyes "I-I'm M-Mitzi." I nodded as I heard sirens in the distance. I looked at the large puddle of blood I made and slowly pulled myself up to a crawling position. Mitzi watched me carefully, she yanked on my shirt to pull me back but I crawled forward.

I got to the guy who was shooting, I grabbed his legs and held on for dear life. He fell down and stood back up slightly limping. He tried kicking me off but I kept my grip, he raised his gun to me and shot again. I heard Ryan and Izzy yell louder. Mitzi crawled towards me slowly as he shot again in a attempt to get me off. I kept my grip as he shot again and again and again. My eyes began to close slightly, I could see policemen running up to the man I held captive as he shot again. I winced and was forced to let go by strong arms pulling me back.

I was head to toe completely covered in blood, I couldn't speak even though I tried many times. I felt so cold, Ryan wrapped his arms around me. He was warm, so very warm, I looked over at Mitzi who was still making her way to me. "I made a promise." I whispered, Ryan pulled back giving me a confused look, his face was drenched in blood and tears. I reached my hand out and Mitzi grabbed it. "I promised." I whispered again. Ryan looked over at Mitzi then our hands, he pulled Mitzi closer to us. The medics came running in, the my headed for the most blood soaked one, which was me and Mitzi. The packed us up in the ambulance, Ryan and Izzy by my side. I closed my eyes while Ryan begged me not to. But I was tiered, I just wanted to go to sleep. I closed my eyes and felt darkness take over.

**Mitzi**

I woke up in a hospital, I felt so much better. I looked over to my right to see a empty bed. The guy that was holding Samy was sitting there crying. "Are y-you ok?" I asked my voice shack from what happened. "S-Sa-Samy might not-not make it." He sobbed. When he told me that I remembered.

**Flash Back**

I was at the mall with a couple of friends of mine. We saw some commotion so we checked it out. There was a woman, who was Samy, and a guy they were fighting. They began to get in a fist fight while a woman in the back clapped talking to Samy's friend. When she was fighting him he pulled a gun and shot. I just stood there frozen as she hit the ground, he pointed the gun at me then shot. My friends ran away and I was left alone while people ran in horror.

The woman reached a hand out to me and grabbed mine "we will be in this together." She mumbled, I nodded "I-I'm Samy." She winced grabbing her side. I looked at her, I could feel tears forming in my eyes "I-I'm M-Mitzi" stuttered. I could hear sirens in the distance, I stared at Samy who pulled herself up to a sitting position and crawled to the guy. She grabbed his legs and he fell down. He shot at Samy and I began to crawl towards her "no, Samy." I tried to yell. She was shot again. He shot again and again and again at Samy, finally the police came in and a man grabbed Samy pulling her back. She was closer to me, I crawled some more and reached out my hand.

Samy grabbed my hand and whispered something I couldn't hear, the guy looked over at me then our hands. He pulled me closer to Samy. The medics came running in, they ran straight for me and Samy. They packed us up in the ambulance and the man and the girl that was clapping before climbed in. I looked over at Samy she closed her eyes and the man begged her not to. I shrugged my shoulders and decided if was a good Idea. I closed my eyes and slipped into darkness.

**end flash back**

Some nurses wheeled the sleeping samy in and put her on her bed. The woman with black hair followed behind wiping tears from her eyes. The man grabbed Samy's hand and ran his fingers through her hair. The woman looked up at me and spoke "do you know Samy?" She asked, I nodded "this is Ryan and I'm Izzy." I smiled a little "I'm Mitzi, I was the second one to get shot. Samy said we were in this together. But it probably because my x-friends ran away when I got shot." I whimpered. Izzy nodded and we sat in silence for the rest of that evening.
