I gave up and just let my mouth talk by itself, "Oh that. Those are umm... Don't you use them when you get nosebleeds? I do. Everyone does."
They look at me as though I'm crazy and shake their heads. Caleb's piercing grey eyes penetrate into mine and he analyses me in suspect. I feel like a cheese in a trap and start to look away, anywhere but his eyes. They were so daunting and unnerving.
Shit. Come on brain think!
"Beckham uses them and many other players!" I say, trying to sound persuasive.
To make them believe me, I take the plastic off and put the tampon in my nose. "See like this."
There is a long awkward silence and I just feel like digging a hole and hiding there.
Then they start laughing. "Dude your funny," Jayden laughs. "Great not only do we have 1 weird creep but 2!" Caleb says with disgust and leaves.
"Sorry about him. He comes off as rude whenever meeting new people. I know he won't do anything bad though." Ethan says giving an apologetic smile.
"Is he always like that or only to me?" I question as I throw the tampon away.
"He's just having a rough day today and no he's like that to almost everyone especially to this other guy as well."
"Other guy?"I ask, really confused.
"Yeah we share the room with another guy as well. He's really weird though. He has a pet spider. A tarantula if I'm right." Jayden announces casually.
A TARANTULA!?!? I am scared of spiders and especially tarantulas. I made a mental note to not get in his bad side and prevent him at all costs.
I think Jayden senses my worry and the corners of his lips tugs up as he looks at me.
"Why chickening out already?" He taunts. I blush and deny.
"Actually, if I remember clearly, you were the one who screamed the loudest and even wanted to change rooms." Ethan chuckles.
Jayden blushes, "That was a long time ago"
As they start to talk, I zone out and take in my surrounding properly. The room was quite spacious. There was 2 bunk beds and 1 single bed. Once you enter the room, you can see the bunk beds in front of you and there is a huge window at the left wall. Beside the bunk beds, there is a single bed that is separated by a bedside table and a window. At the right side of the room, there is a mat and a sofa. On the walls, there are shelves filled with books and trophies. There are some paintings on the wall as well. On the wall aligned with the doors, there is a study desk and a chair. There is also a fish tank which I assume belongs to the 'weird guy'.
