Fireeeeeeeeeee. When I wake up in my room room ~
I can't believe I got into BTS this year. More like March? Shame on me I swear because they are so talented! I knew of them before because one of my friends really liked them and this kbbq restaurant I always go to always plays "I Need U" mv. I always thought of them as that one group that climbs on trains and walks on railroads. XD
I thank the Flower Boy Bromance show for introducing me to them. The one with V and Kim Minjae. To be honest, I watched the show for Kim Minjae but I ended up being interested in V. I watched some mvs and watched Rookie King(?) to learn all of their names. Then I watched Problematic Men and realized how great Rapmonster is. I think I would pick him as my bias becuase he's so philosophical. I'm exactly like him because I like to think about deep stuff. About life. I would honestly love to have a deep conversation with him about values and stuff. My friends get tired of me talking about that kind of stuff lol. In all honesty though, I was extremely surprised when my friend told me he is least liked in the group. Why? I tried searching it up and it said he was racist and stuff and korean sites were bashing him about supporting the LGBT community... Sometimes I really don't like Korea because the people there can be so conservative. Since my parents adapted to American society, they are cool with it but if I tell my family members in Korea that I have teachers who are lesbian, they flip and go like why do you even go to that school. And when I say I support LGBT they are ready to disown me. And my parents have to be all like, "Oh she's open-minded because she lives in America. " No I support them because I think every person on this planet has the right to love whoever they want regardless of race or . I am not lesbian, bi, or trans, but I support them because they are who they are. It is what makes up that person and we should respect that.
Enough deep talk though. What I'm trying to say is Rapmonster shouldn't receive hate for supporting LGBT. I don't really know much about the racist part though.
Another BTS song that I really like is Save Me. Save me save me... I need your love before I fall... How beautiful are those lyrics? I especially like their casual loose outfits in the mv. I really like the Korean lyrics in Jin's part. I'll translate it for you guys:
"In this black darkness, you're shining brightly like that."
It reminds me of stars in the night sky. Particularly the north star because it guides people to safety. Do you see what I mean when I say I love taking about deep stuff?
The next song I really like that came out 2016 is Lonely by WonderGirls. I remember when I used to shop at Justice (remember that clothing store?) and they would play Tell Me. Then WonderGirls just disappeared. But now they're back! And the song is so catchy. I just love that it's kind of indie but at the same time typical kpop. I have so much respect for those girls. Although... The Barbie dude was hella creepy. What's his name supposed to be? Ken? Sounds like my AP Chem teacher's name... Was not a fan of that teacher...
Do you guys like Seventeen? I love them alot because they are so talented. You have one guy that produces all the music and one guy that makes up the choreo. And they all can sing so well and dance well. Idk much about rap so I can't say for sure if they're good but I think they are. My bias is Dokyeom because he's so passionate in whatever he does. I love people who are super passionate and don't take their talent for granted. I'm not saying the other members aren't like that but idk something about him is truly amazing. But it's so sad that korean people don't like him and Seungkwan. Freaking popularity rankings. I know a few people in the entertainment industry (they're not celebrities they just work there) and they told me that most Korean celebrities focus more on whether Korean people like them than international people because Korea is where their friends and family live. Imagine the pressure.
I like their two new songs Pretty U and Very Nice. I like Very Nice a bit more though because Hoshi's part near the beginning... Suspenders are my new favorite things J
And we can't skip 2016 without taking about Twice. Those girls are on fire! Their song Cheer Up is really catchy. I think the name was Jungyeon? But yeah she seems so nice. And the girl wearing the hanbok in the mv... Dahyun? I'm not very good with names haha. But I personally really liked her part in the mv when she looks to the side slowly. Super elegant. When I first heard the song I thought they were saying shut up baby so I was like haha that's fun. But then I realized they meant cheer up.
I'm kind of confused about their lyrics because who are they saying cheer up to? The guy they like? And that one part when they say "A girl can't give away her heart easily so that you can like me more. I'm going to act like I'm nonchalant so that you don't know that i like you". That's actually... Kind of sad but so true...
What songs in 2016 were your favorite? I know 2016 isn't over yet but a lot of great songs have come out. Speaking of great songs, EXO's Monster was really good. And can someone explain how NCT works? Like they switch people or something?
