The small town of Munkville is surrounded by a large forest. That large forest contains many creatures. The most famous inhabitants of that forest that surrounds Munkville are the 101 chipmunks. All of these chipmunks live together in the tallest Sycamore in the whole forest. To list all of their names would take too long, but the ones that are important in this story are Nuts, Stones, and Joe. Please enjoy.

A little chipmunk was running around in the streets of Munkville trying to find Nuts and Stones. This little chipmunk was named Joe. Now Nuts and Stones happen to be brothers, and his best friends. Joe is the intelligent one and he always has to look after is brothers. Nuts and Stones are five minutes younger than Joe, they are also completely identical. Their favorite game is hide–and-go-seek. On this particular day, they were hiding from Joe.

Joe searched all over the small town of Munkville for his brothers. He couldn’t find them anywhere. Then he spotted a bushy tail sticking out of a crate. Joe ran up to the crate and tapped the bushy tail. Rodney the squirrel jumped out of the crate and glared at Joe.

“What are you doing?” Rodney squealed.

“I’m looking for Nuts and Stones. Have you seen them?” Joe asked.

“No. Look in the forest.”

“Okay.”

Joe turned and started running back toward the forest. He doubted that Nuts and Stones would be in the forest, but he didn’t want to argue with Rodney because Rodney was bigger than him. The young chipmunk reached the forest and started searching for his siblings. He called their names, looked under rocks, scoured the trees, and even crawled into Dicky Badger’s hole accidently. Feeling defeated, Joe started back towards the big sycamore. He decided that eventually his brothers would return to the tree. They had to eat sometime.

Joe climbed up the big sycamore and was greeted by the other 98 chipmunks. He went and sat on a branch for a nap. Not too long after he fell asleep, he was woken by Nuts and Stones. They were frowning at him.

“You didn’t come find us!” Nuts squeaked.

“You gave up!” Stones accused.

“I couldn’t find you guys.” Joe frowned.

“Whatever you as…”

Nuts was cut off by a loud rumble. The tree started to move. All of the other chipmunks scurried down the tree. Nuts, Stones, and Joe followed the other chipmunks. They all ran towards the small town of Munkville. Squeaks of terror broke out throughout the chipmunks. Nuts, Stones, and Joe their heads to see what was happening.

The big sycamore was lying on the ground! 10 giant yellow bulldozers were plowing over the WHOLE forest! The chipmunks ran quickly into the small town of Munkville. They hid in crates, boxes, and small cracks in brick buildings.

Nuts and Stones hid in a crack. They searched frantically for their brother. Joe came running towards them and jumped in the crack with them. The three brothers watched in horror as the whole forest was cut down.

Once the giant yellow bulldozers left, the chipmunks all gathered in an alley. They counted and only 69 chipmunks survived. The chipmunks mourned the loss of their friends and family. After that the people of Munkville, which was made into a big city, never saw any chipmunks ever again.
