Chapter 20

Courtney's POV

I'm engaged to my best friend.

It's the best feeling in the world I love it so much. He's amazing in every which way. I love him so much.

Luke just brought me home walking me to my doorstep.

"I love you." I whisper.

"I love you too." He smiles.

"Thank you." I tell him.

"For what?" He asks.

"Making me the happiest person alive right now." I smile kissing his cheek.

"I'm glad you're happy." Luke smiles. "So I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Duh." I laugh.

We say goodnight to each other and he leaves and I go inside.

Lexi greets me siting next to Ashton.

"I had the best night." I tell them.

"What happened?" Lexi asks.

"Wait!" Ashton says. "Was it in a room?"

"No." I giggle.

I show them the ring in my finger and Lexi quickly gets up.

"Oh my god!" She screeches.

"Oh wow." I laugh.

"Awww I'm so happy for you!!" Lexi cheers hugging me.

Ashton gets up looking at the ring.

"Wow he must really love you." Ashton laughs.

I laugh and Lexi lets go of me.

"Tell me everything!" She says.

Soon after I finished my story to Lexi I started getting tired. I tell them both goodnight and go to my room.

I close my door going over to my closet. I pick out some sweatpants and a tank top. I take my cloths off and put my other cloths on. I go to my bed and lay down. I look at the ring and I remember how it all happened. I chuckle to myself.

I'm going to marry my best friend.

I feel my eyes getting heavier and I start to fall asleep.

I wake up next morning to knocking on my door. I look at the time and it's almost twelve in the afternoon.

"Fuck." I say.

I quickly get up brushing my hair and rubbing my eyes.

I go to my door and open it seeing Luke.

"Hello." He smiles.

I smile taking his hand and pulling him in, shutting my door.

He kisses me and goes over to my bed sitting down.

"Did I wake you up?" He asks.

"Maybe." I laugh.

"Yes I did." He chucked.

"Yeah well I was tired." I say.

He chuckles and gets up.

"Well there's a surprise downstairs for you when you want to come down." He smiles leaving my room.

I smile making myself look decent and I make my way downstairs.

I see a big box on my floor. It wasn't wrapped it was just there. There were also some holes.

I walk over to it like smiling at me.

"Can I open it now?" I ask.

He nods and I open it. I look inside seeing a husky puppy.

I look at it in aw.

I look at Luke going over to him hugging him tightly.

"Her name is Ana." Luke tells me. "I rescued her from a shelter."

I smile going back over to the box and picking her up. I noticed she had a blue eye and a brown one.

I go and sit on the couch putting the puppy beside me.

"You're a pretty girl Ana." I say.

I start petting her and she rolls over cuddling next to my outer thigh.

I rub her stomach and she barks a little.

"You're so cute." I laugh.

Luke comes and sits on the other side of Ana. She gets up backing into my lap and sitting down.

I laugh and I pick her up and put her on Luke's lap. She jumps up with her two front paws on his chest and starts licking his face.

He starts laughing and petting her.

"Thank you." Smile looking at him. "Nobody has ever done something like this for me." I say.

"Anytime." He smiles back. "I'm glad I'm the first."

I kiss his cheek.

Ana runs off Luke onto me and sits on my lap.

She barks slightly and it makes me chuckle.

"Oh by the way I got everything she needs." He says.

He points to a spot and I look over to it. I see bags of toys, food, extra stuff like bowls and bones.

I put Ana next to me and I go through the bags. I grab a little bone and go back over to the couch sitting in the same spot.

I show the bone to Ana and she starts getting excited.

I give her the bone and she starts chewing it.

I smile at Luke.

"Thank you."
