The night was cold, but all I could think about was the experiment that was about to be tested on me. Why does it have to be me, I asked myself. But I knew it was pointless. The more I thought about it, the harder it was to just do it. "Are you ready to do this, Harper?" A voice asked from another room, but I ignored it. It was bad enough I was 13 years old, but this was way over the line. "Harper, honey?" The voice came again, the owner stepping into my line of view. His dirt brown hair hanging down, 2 eyes the same color looking at me with sympathy.. He wore a white lab coat, a needle in his right hand. "I'm sorry your the Guinea pig, but I couldn't change their minds!" He said, trying to explain. "Please........ Just get it over with." I asked him, and he started to walk over. "Now this is a pretty big shot, so it might sting. So be prepared......." He told me, but I just nodded. I'd been stuck so many times, it was like I was immune to pain. But all my thoughts were interrupted when I felt a flaring pain in my right arm, and the was enough to knock me out. Just as I closed my eyes, I saw the doctor looking down at me, and he frowned. "They think you'll live, but I don't think you'll withstand the procedure." Then everything went black.
