[A/N]: What an epic fail I am.

So anyways, I don't if you guys know this but I live in the Eastern Time Zone. The Wattpad HQ is located in Toronto (Eastern Time Zone). The deadline for the Watty Awards was moved up to Nov. 8 (which is today. well, for me it is.) at midnight. Me, being the idiot that I am, I didn't realize that the deadline was actually set in Pacific Time Zone. Which means, right now, the deadline is way pass over for me.

LE SIGH!

The one time I actually finish (technically) on time for the Wattys, I make the stupidest mistake of not reading the terms more carefully.

But anyways, I didn't mean to start the last chapter on a bad note. I'm just really frustrated and I needed to let that out.

You may resume.

Once May rolled around, it was full-out prom season for the girls at Rosevelt. I actually didn't think that there was a class that I didn't have where girl's weren't talking about their dresses, their plans to skip an entire day of school just to get their hair and nails done before the big event, and what they planned to do after prom.

From what I had gathered, almost half of the senior class were planning to go to the after party while the other half were planning to get laid.

I almost felt pretty guilty that I wasn't the slightest bit concerned with any of these things. Instead, I just spent the last few weeks worrying whether or not I was going to bomb Physics right before graduation. However, after I got my final updated mark for the course before our last exam at the end of the month, I could have sworn I let out a giddy laughter when I realized I was passing the class with a solid seventy. "Thank God!" I cried out, throwing my hands into the air. If it weren't for the fact that people in my class were looking at me, there was a good chance i would have broken into a happy dance.

My Physics teacher just looked down onto me and laughed. "You did good, Montez," he said, nodding. "Let's just hope you study enough for the last exam, alright?"

I gave him the thumbs up. "Don't worry, sir," I assured him. "I've been on that ever since I realized I was about to fail this class."

He just laughed. "Please, don't ever go into the scientific field, alright?"

I vigorously nodded my head. "Wouldn't dare think about it."

The week before prom got even better when I received all my other updated marks in all my courses. Lik always, I was passing with average grades (and I knew I would only pass all the exams with an equally average mark) with the exception of Art.

Art was the only class where I had an above average grade.

"You just might get the award at graduation," my Art teacher said, winking.

I smiled. "Unless someone beats me by one percent. Again."

My Art teacher shook her head. "You're going to get it this year, Isabella," she told me. "I know you will. You're a great artist and you deserve that award more than anybody in this classroom does. Just have faith."

I laughed. "Thanks, miss. That actually means a lot."

When the Friday of prom finally arrived, I was probably one of the few girls who didn't take the day off to get their hair and nails done. I had expected to see Nolan that day but he was no where to be found, so I was forced to hang out with Aaron instead.

"So," Aaron said, nudging my arm as we continued to eat our pety sandwiches on the bleachers. "what are you and Nolan planning to do after prom?"

I shrugged. "Go home, I guess," I lied.

Nolan had stated a few days ago that he had a "surprise" for me.

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "What is exactly your status with Nolan Harris?" He asked, curiously. "Like, how long have you've been dating him already?"

"We're not dating!" I insisted for the millionth time. "We're... just going on dates."

"Yeah, 'cause that's definitely not dating." Aaron rolled his eyes. "You two should become a couple already. I mean, how long does it fucking take--"

I smacked Aaron right across the head, causing him to spit out his food. "Mind your own business," i snapped.

"Your business is my business just like how my business is your business," Aaron said, pointing to me.

I just stared at him. "You make no sense."

Aaron dramatically flipped his hair. "That's why I get the girls," he stated.

I rolled my eyes, but i didn't make an attempt to tell my friend otherwise.

Once school was over, I went straight home to start getting ready for prom by myself (with the help of my mother, of course). Emma and Angie were getting ready at Bianca's house since the three of them (plus Aaron) would be take a limousine to the banquet hall. Me, on the other hand, Nolan would be picking up with his "new car" since we would be leaving the the banquet hall slightly earlier so he would be able to show me his surprise for me.

The first thing that I did was to change into the dress that Emma helped me choose a few weeks before. It was basically a long flowy dress that was soft pink and had gold embelisments at the waist. Afterwards my mom was finished putting my hair into a messy bun, she started to do my makeup. She kept it light and natural, nothing too drastic so I didn't have to worry about my makeup melting off.

"When can I start wearing makeup?" Irene asked as she continued to sit on my bed a few feet away from me.

My mom sighed as she started to put blush onto my face. "When you're in high school--"

"But I'm twelve. Isn't that old enough?"

I snorted. "No," I responded. "just go play with your Barbie dolls--"

"MOM!"

Mom laughed out loud as she grabbed my eyeliner and threw it in Irene's direction. "Go knock yourself out, kiddo," she said. "but remember, you're going to look back on pictures of yourself with that thing on and you're going to hate it. Izzy did. She looked like a druged-up panda when she first started to wear eyeliner when she was fifteen."

Irene huffed. "I'll go watch YouTube videos about then!" She insisted, before exiting my room.

Mom simply chuckled before taking a step back and smiling. "You look beautiful, Isabella," she said in a soft tone. "Now go downstairs. Nolan's already there."

I grinned as I got up to hug my mom. "Thank you," I said

She was the first one to go downstairs since she wanted to make sure my dad had the camera ready. When she shouted, "We're ready for you, Izzy!" that's when I made the descent down the stairs while holding tightly onto the railing (since it wouldn't look cute falling face flat on the floor in front of your date). As I did, for some reason, I couldn't conjure up the courage to look up to meet the gazes of my family and Nolan. Instead, I just kept on looking at my overly sparkly heels that Emma insisted I wear. But even then, I could still feel Nolan's gaze on me and of course, I blushed.

When I finally reached the floor, Nolan was already at the end of the stair with a hand ready for me to take. "You look beautiful," he whispered once I looked him in the eye.

Nolan's hair was a perfect mess as usual but his eyes were still showing. "You don't look too bad yourself," I whispered back as he began slipping the corsage onto my wrist. It was a pink rose.

"Ugh, could you two not, like, look at each other like that?" Irene snapped, rolling her eyes. "It's disgusting."

Nolan and I both laughed in unison but before we could say anything in response to my brat-of-a-sister, my mom started to gesture for us to look in her and my dad's direction. "Look over here!" She chirped. "We need to take a good amount of pictures before you two leave!"

Nolan put his arm my waist just as we both turned to face the camera. Almost immediately, the flashes started to come and I swear my eyes were about to fall out.

"They look so cute!" My mom cooed as she took the camera away from my dad's hand to look at the shots taken. She looked up and gave us the thumbs up. "You two can leave now. And oh! What time are you coming home?"

My dad nodded. "Yes," he said rather sternly. "what time are you coming back with my daughter?"

Nolan half-smiled. "I'll have her home before midnight," he assured my dad, by firmly shaking his hand.

My dad narrowed his eyes. "You better."

I rolled my eyes. "Bye, Dad," I interjected by giving both my parents a hug. I tried giving my two siblings a hug as well but they both just screamed in my face and scurried off in the other direction. "Anyways," I said, stepping out of the house. "I'll see you guys soon."

Both my parents gave us a warm smile as Nolan lead me down the steps of my house and towards a shiny black car. "Wow," I said as he opened the passanger's door for me. "This is a nice ride, you have."

Nolan winked. "Courtesy of my mom who thought Dustin's truck was inappropriate to take you to prom with," he stated with a chuckle.

Once Nolan made his way around the car and back into the driver's seat, I gave my parents a small wave as we began pulling out of the driveway and making our way to the banquet hall.
