Let me start from the beginning.

My name is Caroline. I'm sixteen years old. I have long, wavy brunette hair, icy blue eyes and fair skin. I like to read and listen to music, but still find myself sometimes feeling lonely. I don't have any siblings and my mom passed away when I was only three years old. So it's just my dad and I. We're pretty close except he works lots of late shifts at his job to support us.

One Saturday night, my dad called me saying that he had to work until eleven. There was a big storm and all the roads were closed so he said he would have to stay there over night. I didn't want to be alone so I called my two best friends, Hannah and Chelsea and invited them over to spend the night at my house. My house was rather large, with two stories, three bedrooms and four bathrooms. There would be plenty of space for all of us.

Chelsea arrived at my house first. She was already in her pajamas with her long blonde hair pulled into a messy bun. I had always been jealous of how pretty she was. She was thin, a bit taller than me and had big hazel eyes.

"Hey, are you ready to get this party started?" she basically shouted as she ran up to my doorstep, trying to avoid getting wet from the rain.

I grabbed one of her bags, "Yeah, this should be fun."

We sat down on the couch, turned off the lights and turned on the tv.

"Hannah's taking forever! When is she going to get here?" Chelsea asked impatiently.

I stood up, "She should be here soon, I'll call her." Before I got a chance to dial her number, I jumped at a banging on the door.

"Holy crap! Hannah, you scared me!" Chelsea said laughing as she got up and ran to open the door. She opened the door but there was no one there. Chelsea looked uneasy, "Haha, very funny Hannah. C'mon, we're missing the best part of the movie." But there was no reply. She now looked terrified. She shut the door and locked it, "Holy shit Caroline, what should we do?"

I was in complete shock. I'm the type of person that gets scared really easily. I took a deep breath, "Let's just go back to watching tv and see if she calls."

It had been a half hour since the banging on the door. We had almost forgotten about the situation. I got up, "I'll go make us some popcorn." I went into the kitchen and opened the pantry. I was digging around trying to find the popcorn box when I heard my phone ring. I walked to the kitchen counter and looked at the caller ID. It said "unkown". I felt this uneasy rush in my stomach that I couldn't describe.

I answered the phone, "Hello?" There was no reply, just a muffled sound. "Hello?" Still nothing.

I was about to hang up when a mans voice shouted, "Hello!" I jumped, the voice was deep and raspy,

"Who are you? Why are you calling me?"

Then he answered slowly, "Stop waiting for your little friend, she won't be joining you tonight. Do you understand me?" Then he hung up.

I ran to tell Chelsea what had just happened. She looked horrified, "We have to call the police," she screamed! We dialed 911 but there was just a loud buzzing noise. Horrified, we turned on all the lights and checked to make sure all the doors were locked.

My phone rang again, it was from an "unknown" caller. "Hello?" I asked, my voice shaking.

"You thought that would work? Now you've pissed me off. Say goodbye to your little blonde friend!" the stranger yelled and then hung up.

Chelsea started crying, "Why is he doing this?" she started to panic. "We're both going to die Caroline, he's going to kill us!"

I just stared at her with wide eyes, was this really it? Is this how I'm going to die?
