She wanted to thwack herself for stuttering though she practiced and expected this scenario already.
She lowered her gaze avoiding his.
The strange cold touch lasted, longer than even possible. If this was just a simple and usual day, she won’t be looking at her fingers, instead, she’ll be talking nonstop, not until Mr. Belarmino yawn.
But today. . .it's different.
“Is there a problem?” He started, scared for a possibility that her student might leave if he'll keep on staring. Creepy, he shrugged the thought.
Patricia, for the first time, found her nails very interesting than his preceptor.
“W-what do you mean, sir?”
He automatically crossed his arms and stared at her, digging her body down to her spine and to her soul, but there is no soul in there.
“You failed the fourth quiz?” He arched a brow, “not Patricia's thing.”
He nodded, with disgust or disbelief, just the same.
The statement he spilled was not the real one. It isn’t what he really wanted to utter.
Patricia automatically closed her eyes, she knew it. He is going to interrogate her, not directly. But still the same.
“I-I was, uh. . .”
For the first time, she has nothing to utter. Not Patricia's thing.
“Was what?” He impatiently asked.
He wanted to pull her, he wanted to own her that very moment but no.
He can’t and he shouldn’t.
