Catching each others breath, he looked at her with one question. Why?

He tried to touch her but she stood up, with her arms covering her chest like she’d been raped, she walked backward.

“Patricia.”

The way she heard it, she can’t be wrong, it was like an angel called her but no. She can’t be deceived. Not again. He’s a devil disguised as an angel.

He heaved a sigh as he massaged his head while taking a step backward.

“Fuck, I've been a coward.”

Another set of tear was ready to fall anytime from her orbs, she wanted to pull him and enfold him and apologize for her stupidity but she cannot move.

“I was scared,” she started. She wiped her tears as she bowed down.

He looked at her, waiting. Waiting for her to speak up, to stab him of the truth.

“A year ago,” she started, “I was waiting for my mum, just like the usual,” a tear slipped from her eyes.

The distance between them remained as she continued.

“My mum, she fulfilled all the love, care and all my necessities in life, all alone.”

She wiped her tears with the back of her hand as she reminisce everything, from the beginning.

“She gave me her first and last, her onlys. Everything, she gave me everything and. . .” she cried audibly, “she’s now gone.”
