Chapter 4: Our First Night (Part I)

---- John's Point of View----

The rest of the week seemed very slow but finally Saturday rolled around. I was so nervous but ready to see Katy again. I missed her. Sure it might seem like I was obsessed with her but I wasn't obsessed. I just liked her a lot.

I was messing around and playing some riffs on my guitar when I heard my phone beep. It was a text from Katy. I picked up my iPhone from off the floor and read the text message.

"I'm so excited for our date tonight : )"

I softly giggled and simply replied, "I'm excited too :P"

She didn't respond after I sent it and I figured then would be a good time to get ready for our date.

I hope this goes well.

---- Katy's Point of View----

I woke up Saturday morning with a smile on my face. I was more than excited for my date with John Mayer, the guy I've had a crush on for years.

I still hadn't told my friends about the date, not even Shannon and I told her everything.

I got out of bed, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and got ready to go to the studio.

"You look super happy today. What's up?" Tamra asked me smirking when I walked into the conference room of Capitol Records.

"Oh, umm, no reason. Just smiling and ready for the day." I responded as I took a seat at the large table.

Bradford, Tamra, music executives, and other important people sat around me in the room. It wasn't an exciting meeting. We just talked about what was going on with the album. When it was going to be ready to be released, when the tour is going to be, and more boring stuff I could care less about.

I zoned out a few times and drew on a notepad that was in front of me. I guess the people around me noticed that I didn't have much interest in the subjects that were being discussed.

"We can pick this back up some other time. Katy?" One of the produces said to me.

"What? Oh, yeah. Sure. That's fine." I shook my head out of my daydream smiled like I actually knew what I was going on.

When the meeting was finally over I walked into the hall to go to my car so I could go home and get ready. Tamra caught up to me before I was through the doors. She tapped me on the shoulder when she was finally behind me.

'Are you okay? You seem very distant and distracted today. What's going on with you?" Tamra asked me.

"Nothing. I'm fine. I just have to go home because I have some plans." I tried to hold back a smile by biting my lip but it didn't help.

"I see. You've got a date or something tonight. Alright I'll let you go but be careful." Tamra nodded at me. I swear she knew everything. She was like my second mother other than my assistant.

"I will. Thank you." I told Tamra before I hugged her and left.

I walked out the doors of the building and to my car. Once I got inside I let out a little squeal of excitement for the night to come. I drove home and got ready for my first date with John.

---- Katy's Point of View----

It was about 5:30 when I heard a car pull up in my driveway. I had butterflies in my stomach like I was a school girl. I fixed my hair and walked to the door before John had a chance to ring the doorbell.

"Hey. You're early." I said when I saw John standing in front of me. He wore his usual outfit. Jeans, boots, and a flannel top. He also had one of his signature bandanas hanging from his pocket.

"I'm sorry. Do you want me to come back later?" He asked me while running his hands through his hair.

"No! It's fine. I'm ready when you are." I said laughing and smiling.

"Then let's go." John said smiling back at me.

I got my purse and phone and headed out of my house to John's Range Rover. He opened the car door for me and I got in on the passenger’s side. Once he got inside he started driving onto the road.

"So where are you taking me?" I asked him.

"You'll see. It's a surprise." John told me smirking but still looked at the road in front of him.

I sighed and sat back in the seat. Letting him take me where we were going. We didn't talk very much on the drive there but I expected that. I could tell that we were both nervous.

"We're  here." John told me after about 15 minutes of driving.

I noticed that we are at the top of a small mountain overlooking Los Angeles. The stars were visible and the bright lights of the city shone in front of us.

"This is beautiful." I said once I got out of the car.

"I thought you would like it." John said once he was by my side. In one hand he had a blanket and in the other a picnic basket.

"So old school and yet so cute." I told him smiling widely.

He smiled back and walked with me to a spot towards the end of the mountain.

I helped him lay down the blanket and put the basket next to it.

We sat down next to each other and stared out into the city.

This is going to be a two part chapter because I am honestly too tired to finish it. I hope you guys are liking it about please leave me comments on what you think about it. The second part to thiss will hopefully be posted tomorrow. X Alisha
